Well I went round to the doctors. Yes the letter has arrived, on 13th, well I did no see my oncologist until the 16th. I got a real stupid receptionist who thinks it is not more urgent than me wanting a bar of chocolate, sorry to be so facetious but she thinks she can just give me a tablet.
The doctor who had the letter (not my doctor) must have called them as soon as he left because the stupid receptionist called me to make an appointment for me to BEGIN the tests. :wall:  so now I have to start all over again.
I am not seeing this Doctor I can't stand him he does not even read the last entry in your notes. Even when he makes the appointment himself he does not know what you have gone for and he does not tell you either. He does not listen to a word you say and he sends you to see the wrong consultant for the wrong disease, making you wait even longer for treatment.0 -

Thanks for popping in. Sorry your health isn't so goodjust now. Hope you are back from town safe and sound and enjoying some peace and quiet. Perhaps even some time with one of your dogs.
Going to take Cookie for her afternoon walk shortly - if she can be bothered to stir her backside off the sofa.
Mr LW can stir himself away from playing Splatoon on the WiiU and come for a walk as well, whether he likes it or not! :rotfl:
NM ye gods and little fishes - you couldn't make it up!! :eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Sounds like cookie and Mr LW are well suited LW
Glad you survived your trip into town.
NM - I second vegpatch's suggestion about Macmillan. Or could you get the consultant's secretary to chase up with the surgery. If they called to ask whether you've started treatment it might galvanise them into action.
I'm finally NOT anaemicMy serum ferritin has been stable for well over a year now, and is higher than it has ever been. Unfortunately this means some symptoms that have been attributed to anaemia clearly aren't, so I went to see the gastroenterologist this morning and she's going to book me in for a gastroscopy and biopsy. There are two likely outcomes, neither of them disastrous, but both will probably mean a change in diet. The good news is, in order for the results to be correct I need to keep on eating all the stuff that could potentially be problematic until after the biopsies have been taken
(apart from the stuff I find physically difficult to swallow, obviously, as that might be dangerous).

Would you believe it the Doctor I can't stand has sorted it. I am having my first injection on Tuesday afternoon. I is happy too.
I just need to get these forms filled in and I may get a flat fairly soon as there is one going on a small scheme right on the edge of town. It is nice and quiet and has all the amenities I need. DS may not like me being that far out but He could probably get a lift to near by if he comes straight from work. DD will like it because it is easy to get to from her direction.
It could have gone of course I could even have a little dog when I feel up to walking one.
LW you are sounding a lot brighter. If your weather is anything like ours you may be back from your walk. We did not get any April showers this year but we are certainly getting them now, really heavy but short lived.0 -
Good news in the end then nm :T Good luck with the flat.
Gentle ((HUGS)) Greenbee, i'm glad that at last you're not anaemic, and i hope they are soon able to diagnose and treat you. are you having to travel much atm? That on it's own is very taxing.0 -

In the plan so far ... Orlando, Austin, Chicago, New York, Portland, Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, Sao Paolo, Barcelona, Stockholm, Copenhagen... and not in that order (or ANY logical order). Also need to work out how to fit in HK/Manila again and somewhere in the middle east.
Thankfully the job is not as intense when travelling as the previous one. They let me sleep and eat and exercise and I even have time to go to the toilet!0 -
Oh dear greenbee what a lot of traveling. You can keep Denver but there are a few places I would like to go but not too close together. It's a good job you aren't anaemic any more. I hope they soon find out what is wrong with you. I also hope they will allow you to have time off for any tests. Good job you don't have to travel by bus.0

My boss is great NM, and as we're a small team it's easy to work around. The test will only be 5 minutes, but I want to make sure I have it when i'm due to be home for a bit. Partly to avoid germs, and also so that if there are complications (it's a low risk procedure, but they all have risks) it doesn't impact on commitments I already have, as I know that we're already very stretched and there isn't anyone who could cover if I wasn't available.
It's a VERY good think I don't have to travel by bus. I'm in a village with an hourly bus service between 8am to 7pm. I don't envy you your trips. Thankfully I don't have to be sedated for this either, so can drive myself rather than asking someone to take me.0
