Have sent you a PM Mar let me know if it didn't arrive :D

Nargle it's good to hear things are going well for your husband , he seems to be in safe hands as they're monitoring him well .

Welcome back dear Monna hoping the MRI results are good for your db and wishing you a lovely trip out today .

I hope things are going well with your DH and you are managing a bit of rest and recovery yourself Csarina .
The sky internet was a direct transfer via 02 . I don't do Sky in any other way but the last few years have been hectic and I'm one of the people they tell off on the debt free board . Never had debt but haven't had time or energy to look at and alter the direct debits . That's now in the pipeline . I was going to change to plusnet a few years ago as I noticed GQ and others were with them . Family techie advised against as there were problems occurring so I shall have a word with him as time has long passed since that conversation .
I loved my Humax box but Sony and Humax fell out and Sony stopped supporting Humax and my TV and the box wouldn't work together . I lost loads of classic drama series etc . At the moment I am only watching about 2 hours tv a week but I know the winter schedule is looking interesting . TV and box are 13 years old and tv is still fine so one to ponder on . Possibly will get dd to transfer things to disc .

Just read your post NM . Is there an ombudsman for your problem? it seems you're going round in circles and being charged for doing so .
You've got more patience than me love . I've just been deleting 17 scam calls from the landline and blocking as I go , I guarantee they will be back later with another number . It would be easier if I didn't have to pick up before activating the block . It shows them it is a live number so there should be an option to block without lifting . I can see the number on the call minder and only need to respond to unavailable as some nhs depts come up under that .

Polly what a waste of time keep calling you when you keep blocking them. If you keep blocking them it stands to reason you are not interested in what ever they are selling.

I rarely get phone calls and even less junk mail. If they have an unsubscribe button then I do. I never subscribe to anything.

Make an appointment with yourself and get everything changed. Make it about 2 hours. I paid my line rental in advance and am paying £5 a month for my first year with plusnet. I am getting 98meg fibre. I am only paying £53 a month for my electricity with Ebico. I don't have gas. I only pay £40 for my contents insurance. Without constantly changing every year I would be paying hundreds of pounds more. They do right telling you off.

I said yesterday I would go to offcom. That's the ombudsman for internet providers and mobile phones. Virgin has thousands of hands and none of them know what the others are doing. Someone has not taken me off their computer so it keeps churning out rubbish. The person I called to cancel probably loses pay for people cancelling so it could be him who keeps sending stuff. He was really nasty when I asked to cancel my account.

I have a lot to do today so I will get to offcom tomorrow.

Polly, I would be happy to pop in each day with a greeting and a Thought. It's just that I am busy frying other fish just now, if that makes sense. Anyway , today I have Pickle for the day while DS2 finishes a job before they all go off on holiday. We will be Ladies Who Lunch in the cafe on the beach.

Strength and patience to you NM.

    Good morning! :)

I've brought a basket of washing downstairs, but the sky doesn't look at all promising! but i think it's meant to be just cloudy and not actually rain. i can but hope xx
  • Gosh, it’s gone very quiet on here, although there are many who are poorly or dealing with family who are, and some in the preparations to move house imminently (hope all goes smoothly there!). Positive vibes to all....

Budgets all sorted out and when I get paid will take out my grocery allowance and “spending” allowance both in cash for the month ahead, as I know I will think about what I’m handing over far more.
NurseMaggie, it sounds like a bit of a nightmare, I was going to change Bb provider but luckily got sky to match an online deal I had seen so can stay with them.

Made the Easy Beef Stir-Fry from the Eat Well For Less programme a few weeks ago, it was easy and very tasty. Half now in the freezer for dinner another day too.

Squiggly Diddly you get some good recipes on Eat Well For Less don't you. Mrs LW will already have moved but they will be very upside down yet or even busy decorating their new place.

I hope you got your washing dry ivyleaf . I think it rained here all afternoon. I laid awake all night last night so I went back to bed this afternoon it was raining when I got up. I added a new pile of paperwork today I got the forms to apply for a specialist housing association.

There are two Anchor housing schemes in my area so I think I will send for their forms too. There are some other housing associations but their rents are 95% of my pension. No wonder they stay empty for months. Some have had vacancies since March.

Nursemaggie, you have spread your net far and wide, surely you must get a result soon. Your battles with housing associations, internet providers, phones, and officialdom in general are legendary. You should write a book, you already have all the material.

I'm having my own problems with my interne Some sites are telling me that my connection is not private and not allowing me to access them, others are absolutely fine. Likewise my WiFi. Aparentling I am both connected and out of range at the same time.

    Figure that one out.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Let's assume I'm right. It will save time.
