Still waiting for the removals firm to come back to us they promised to ring before 5 and still nothing! We're going to contact Pickfords nearest branch to see if they may be able to do it. It's so complicated you can't actually get the removals firm to confirm they WILL move you until you actually have confirmation that exchange of contracts HAS actually taken place the fact that you've had a quote and accepted it on the phone doesn't count, you have to have the signed form back to them after exchange before they will confirm they can do the move. They could at lunchtime, the perishing solicitor didn't confirm until 3.53 and by then they said they hadn't the van and couldn't do the move. Rock and a very hard place and an impossible situation! Poor He Who Knows is going round in ever decreasing circles and the firm who he is actually on the phone to as I type still won't make a decision and are closed over the weekend aaagghhhhh!we'll get there somehow even if I have to borrow the Heffalump, the dragon and the camel!0

I've not been getting my notices again. I did find a couple in trash last time so I had thought it was my browser. I have changed suppliers today so it can't be my internet provider.
It took me an hour and a half to catch up so I have forgotten most of it. The forgetting it more to do with the noise from upstairs which has been constant since just after 4 pm. Any gaps between noises has been for less than a second. I am wondering if someone else has moved in. There at least 10 people running, jumping and generally banging about, why are they not colliding or is that the booms I also keep hearing?
Lyn have you thought of having removal company from Gloucester? I would not recommend Pickfords they are about the worse we have ever had. There is a good company there but I have forgotten their name. We got a good company from the internet when we moved to Bolton.
I wish I could say I will never move again but the present noise is more likely to end up with me being taken away buy the men in while coats.
I can't think what else I was going to post.0 -
So the removals firm won't take us and we've a man from Pickfords coming to look us over in the middle of next week which is the best they could offer. We have one local firm that work tomorrow so we'll actually go to the offices and talk to them in the morning, sometimes it helps to talk face to face and not on the phone. They're not affiliated to anyone but our insurance company will cover us if they take our goods but they won't cover any china or glass breakages but that's OK as we have nothing of value. I'm sure it will all be OK and I just wish we had it sorted out and finished as He Who Knows is looking pretty stressed and that's so unlike him, he's normally Mr Laid Back however there's nothing we can do until tomorrow, it's still 33 degrees outside so I can't take him walking and the TV is DIRE so it's off. I've picked all I can pick in the garden, and we're both just sat reading kindles wishing we were doing something else instead.0

Mrs LW movibg is in the top 3 most srressful things, so no wonder your normally laid back HWK is feeling the pressure. Hope you get sorted, maybe NM has a good point about a firm local to the other end? They could store in their premises overnight too...2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Nell is looking into the possibility of a firm from the other end for us but the problem is most of them don't work weekends so we can do nothing until Monday at the very earliest and we're legally bound now to move on August 29th, our buyers solicitor is entirely the cause of this and I am like Queen Victoria definitely 'NOT AMUSED! if the work and the phone call had been finished and made before he/she went off to lunch at 1 we'd have been able to use the firm we'd chosen but the phone call here confirming exchange didn't arrive until almost 4 (it must have been some lunch!) and the firm had let our slot go and now can't find a van in any of their branches to free up on the day, marvellous! Never mind, tomorrow is another day and we'll see what happens then!0

Mrs LW we've been moved a couple of times by GB Liners who are a national. They came and packed us one day, left us with a bed and bits overnight in the house and picked those bits up and moved us the following day. May be worth contacting.

Lyn - I used a local firm here. They weren't the cheapest, but they stored my stuff for a couple of weeks as I decided to have a gap between moving out and moving in to clean at both ends (and house sat in between). I can give you the details if you like. I think part of the problem is that, like I did, you've ended up moving around the bank holiday weekend, which for some bizarre reason is a popular time to move.0

I was going to recommend GB Liners. They were great over our move that didn't happen (loaded truck, drove to new house, then drove back again - don't ask!).0

How stressful Lyn. Perhaps I should get this bus moving, we can take out all the seats, gather fencers on the way and get you moved!
Another grey day here, I had to get the grass cut before I go away but it was hard going as it has been so wet lately. Sorry to make you all jealous but the grass is lovely and green!
I was going to visit DS2 and the DGC tomorrow but he has just phoned to say he is ill, he sounds dreadful. Sore throat, sweats and shivers and a runny nose. He has had to take the children back to their Mum for the weekend but he's certainly in no state to look after little ones.0
