But MrsLW, I mustered heffalump number 2 and he's all raring to go... and to be honest I have no idea what to do with an overly excited heffalump all hopped up on bananas :eek:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Mention Mardatha, and see if that quietens him down."When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0

I was just reflecting on Chaos theory and if a butterfly flaps its wings what will the knock on effect be? Then you mentioned heffalumps jumping up and down. Now I am scared. Really scared!
I also thought of banana cake. Nom, nom, nom.
Excellent news MrsLW !!!I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
He can come for a holiday when we've taken possession of the new house, there's enough room for an antipodean Heffalump and I'll make sure there's a goodly supply of currant buns for him!0

I go away for a few days and you've got the menagerie out again. It has been an exhausting week but I now have some time off again. The garden, house, laundry pile etc. all need attention. Gardening this afternoon I think. 1 load already on the line and the shop done. I've just tucked into a lunch of two types of roasted veggies, a salad a bit of toast and some hummus. I think tea tonight is a baked spiced aubergine with jeweled rice, unless I'm too tired from the gardening in which case we'll have salmon and stir fry. I've booked myself in for an extra long yoga session tomorrow as a treat.
I started to read back but saw how many pages it was. I'll have to catch up from here. Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
That's great Mrs L and great timing for gardeners - you'll be able to grow a few things and have plenty of time to get the veg beds ready for next spring. Have you got cabbage plants etc started off ready to go in?It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

We've got a tiny garden at the new house Mary and have our names down for another allotment but it will be a derelict which we'll have to lick into shape over the autumn. We've worked out though that there is room at the front beside the house for a decent sized greenhouse and one of Nell's neighbours has just dismantled one which she's given to us, how lucky is that? so we'll get that over and assembled as soon as we can and then we'll set things germinating with a view to getting some early crops next year. Luckily we have an airing cupboard in the new house so getting seeds away will be much easier. No room at all for fruit and veg beds in the new garden but we will train a thornless blackberry and a thornless loganberry along the back fence, one on either side of the gate and I'll set up a herb patch and get a bay tree away before we get colder weather. We'll be much further north than we've gardened before so I think we'll have to learn planting timings and tending methods all afresh but that's no bad thing is it?0

Throwing in all the move-going-ahead-smoothly vibes I can muster, Mrs LW.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Lyn don't know if it's of use, but I am getting DH to build me something similar to below from scraps from this building work - I intend to grow herbs and Stawberries in it above the main veg beds, the theory being the summer fruit can grown above the autumn/winter veg, but could be adapted and maybe even just guttering on fences would work
