Our weather is also grey and rainy today. My DS had just left to attend a friends wedding. It's an outdoor event in a field (with hog roast and ceilidh later, sounds lovely!)
I'm sure arrangements have been made to keep things dry, but I wouldn't blame the bride for cursing just a little when she hears the heatwave forecasts and we're stuck under a rain cloud
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Here it is so hot I am sitting in the cellar.
I do recommend decent footwear when allotmenteering...I stood on a plank in my wellies...but there was a nail...which went right into my foot...i pulled it out ..of course the toddlers ran off...so i got them back..limped home..got into car and drove to surgery, still bleeding..they gave a tetanus shot and some iodine..got home..neighbours on doorstep-their dogs had followed the blood - drops all the way up the village high street...this was before mobile phones were affordable.0 -
TT i have some beaten up old Cat boots I wear when digging or shifting stuff - the wellies are worn for weeding picking & watering, and going to Asd@ on the way home!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I have to say it.....I'm sorry RANT ALERT!!!
Having popped to the shop I got home to the news that we've finally exchanged contracts and would I ring our own solicitor to confirm that I am happy we are buying and selling at the prices agreed etc. all the usual blurb as then we would be officially exchanged and all could proceed...so I did...and our end is fine BUT our buyers perishing solicitor had gone to lunch and wouldn't be available to confirm exchange until later in the afternoon...GOD GIVE ME STRENGTH and today, just today please don't give me anything sharp and pointy to hold!!!
To my dear friends MONNA, KITTIE and LESSON LEARNED who are also in various stages of trying to move house, go out and buy the biggest packet of tolerance, goodwill towards man and womankind, and the very biggest fixed smile that you can possibly find and a small bottle of sanity restorer for the day you (allegedly) are exchanging contracts and keep that smile fixed for at least 3 weeks because that's probably how long it's going to drag out and also a large bottle of brandy!!!0 -
It is now safe to hand me a pointy thing, we've just had the solicitor on the phone to confirm that contracts HAVE been exchanged...PHEW!!!
I have a small bottle of e.brandy to send to you if you need it, we had a celebratory cup of tea instead!
I think, all things given, the whole process hasn't been that painful just long drawn out and tedious and just listening to He Who Knows on the phone the perishing removals firm are saying they can't do the day!!!0 -
I now know why it is my intention never to move house again!!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Well done LW, I hope you are very happy in your new home. Drink the brandy anyway, but not all at once.0

Well thank goodness for that. That's the biggy. Right now removals. Problem after problem but it will work out, it has to. Everything always works out. Tuck that tail in so it can't spin and, and, no begging to be peeled off the ceiling. Do we have a deal?0
