MMF there is a way to change the print settings so they go onto ink saving mode which my system informs me saves approx 15% of the ink. Unless you really need colour, you can also get it to print in mono only which on a lot of printers where the black cartridge is more expensive because it's bigger, will save you money. Unless you set it to mono only, even what appears on screen to be black, will still have small amounts of colour in, and colour costs. See if you can find a pdf to print, my system gives me an option at this point to change the output which then seems to set it as the default option.
Things like tickets don't NEED to be colour. We've printed mono tickets for flights no problem, although I do tend not to use ink saving mode when there's a barcode that will need reading.
Thanks Slinky. I do most of the above and defo only print b&w most times. I will check for a more economical setting after I have printed flight tkts
Fuddle, that's amazing news! Well done on all the research and putting it into practice xxI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
I'm a great fan of hand held fans. My OH was fortunate to be given a couple as gifts from Chinese students when he did a course. I have one in my sunroom and one beside the bed. They are being used daily when I just need a bit of a whaft to cool me down.Make £2025 in 2025

Thank you. My research mostly consisted of guidance from kittie. She's worked with me behind the scenes and taken the time to fill the blanks where the medical pro's just haven't the time to educate.
I'm saddened to read that there has been a link between enlarged heart and air pollution reported just this morning. Lyn I agree with you in terms of mechanical means not always progress... Me flapping because the battery ran out on my scales and youngest prompting me to go 'American' and get my cup measures out. To be able to think like that at 10, when her own, supposed savvy, mother couldn't, well that's progress to me. I've learned from my late twenties and it's flawed. She's learned OS all her life and has nouse. Give me nouse any day.0 -
Well done Fuddle. You've worked so hard on getting all your various glitches dealt with you so deserve the rewards.
Lyn, I'm absolutely with you on seeing if something simple, tried and tested will work before rushing to get the latest gizmo. Having said that, I am so grateful for my desktop electric fan that sits on my bedside table and cools me enough to get some sleep. I wouldn't fancy trying to wave myself cool with a paper fan when trying to sleep.
On the subject of phones, my mobile is a flip top one and spends its life at the bottom of a drawer in my bedroom. I want it just for emergencies and only use it if I am out for the day, (sometimes) have to let someone know my eta if I am on public transport, or on holiday. I really don't want to be available to all and sundry, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Occasionally I hear despairing, "charge me," noises coming from the drawer and dig it out and find several texts applying to events about a month ago. However, the world has obviously continued to turn without me knowing all about them.
Hester, Get the antihistamines down you for goodness sake. If that had happened to me I would look like the Michellin man by now and languishing in some hospital ward.
Still struggling here to get the house all spotless before I go away next week. I always do it as I love to come back to an immaculate house. Not that it is likely to happen this time as Will and Jordan (DS2 and DGS) are moving in to look after Millie. Will has promised to clear out a lot of their rubbish/valuable and cherished belongings, on the premise that I WILL be moving in the foreseeable future. I've heard this before so won't be holding my breath.
Stay cool.

Hester ouch!
Any news on the homefront Lyn??0 -
Kittie is more than ok MMF. She's keeping us entertained with interesting topics and being proactive with her house move. Can't keep a good woman down.
Speaking of which, Monna? 0 Did you get caught short there? :rotfl: ah you managed in the end. Good old edit button0 -
Fuddle well done Hun, brilliant news x
DH laughed when I put my fan into my handbag for a recent wedding, didn't laugh when we were sat in blazing sunshine, whilst the ceremony went on, I ended up lending it to the mother of a young baby, so she could 'waft' him
Stripped beds, changed towels, onto 3rd load of washing. Taking MIL to visit a housebound friend this afternoon, last time I took her was the day DD had been accepted as a student nurse, and MIL's friend is an ex nurse so she was really pleased and interested, I think she enjoyed different company.
Have a fab day all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Sorry about that. I sometimes panic when I've been in full flow for a while, I never know when I go to submit the post if the tablet is going to thumb its nose at me and say that I'm offline, ya ya dee ya ya, so I do most of the post in 'edit'.
Hence, by the time I've finished there are about half a dozen posts that weren't there when I started.I believe that friends are quiet angels
