Really hope they don't get rained on, sunburnt or get food poisoning (sarcasm).

Decided earthquakes etc was over the top but hope they have the break they deserve. ;)

Probably too late burtha but hope you have a good day .
Before you return to work see the GP to sort CAMHS . I hope you have a supportive doctor . No doubt as the school holidays near an end your daughters thoughts will be on returning for that last year and the exams so she needs proper support in place .

Hmm - wonder if the GF will realise when she's with him 24/7 that he's a sh*t - if he can dump his family like that .
I wonder if you can transfer norovirus by thought - collective thought would be even better methinks.

Hugs to Burtha-keep on keeping on hun.

Well it's drizzly here so last minute washing will have to go in the tumble dryer. We go on holiday tomorrow. Three nights in Babbacombe near torquay, meet up on Monday with Dh's old friend from work for lunch as they now live in Torquay. Then on to Finlake for four nights in a woodland lodge. Of course a visit to a Heritage railway is involved. I want to go to Dartmouth to see Agatha Chhristie's house.

So odds and ends to do today and packing. OH has gone to get his hair cut so I am chilling out on here.

Hugs and spoons for all who woulf like them. Have a good day.

Really burtha, you shouldn't have to wait for pratface give you back money you have already spent on the children. There should be some interim order made that he pays you a set amount towards the upkeep of his family. If he can afford all these jolly trips away with Lilo Lil then he can make a solid arrangement for the upkeep of his children.
Obviously all this will be ratified legally eventually, but in the meantime anyone with half a moral would be making sure that the family they have selfishly and callously abandoned are at least financially secure.
Unfortunately in cases like yours, morals, or even half morals, are in woefully short supply.

You are quite right, when the children are back at school some sort of routine will be established and things like shopping will sort themselves out.

How does your dd feel about going back to school? I can foresee difficulties for you.
We will see you through whatever you have to face. You know that, don't you?

  • Morning all,

OH has texted from school to say SIL let him know final scan results have come back as expected so...nothing worse than originally thought about FIL's health. He'll take home his first Chemo treatment today. It will mean some changes, but I think overall he'll go on to dance the night away with MIL once his Chemo stops for awhile (they both love dancing).

Burtha, I think it is pretty normal to hope for a few mishaps on the part of your ex...and if it makes you feel a bit better no harm done, just don't give him more space in your already very full brain than you need to.

I think others are right to mention that you may need to look after yourself and perhaps slow down on responding to DD. While she needs support it may be best to remind her that in fact the world may change but it hasn't ended. Stopping everything may make her feel better in the short term but it may also reinforce to her that what is happening is the worst and very bad and will never right itself, sometimes carrying on as best we can is a good reminder of all of the things that haven't gone pear shaped.

Gintot--yes we've got surprise rain here as well. We just purchased a tumble dryer a couple of weeks ago since my work schedule is going to complicate laundry. I've tried to resist using it but I think it may be warranted as I popped in some heavy towels this morning to wash.

I miscalculated our meal plan so nothing planned for tea and we have to do the shop before we can eat...I've also seen it is national burger day. A marketing ploy I'm sure but I think we'll have HM burgers since OH loves them and will be nice to celebrate FIL's not so bad news.

Hugs to all who need them...I just realized I never made the tea for my tea break. Must go and do that now and then get back to work.x
