Floss I knew I had something to commiserate with you yesterday but I couldn't remember what it was. I hope the fracking is not as horrendous as everyone thinks.

I expect we will be next because our council refused planning permission and the government overturned it.

CRANKY I had better send DGS round then, he will eat a whole punnet to himself if he finds them, he eats them like sweets. Particularly the small ones.

Polly get well soon I miss you when you don't post.

Talking of completion dates the last time we bought a house we exchanged and completed contracts at the same time. Our vendor moved out the next day. We had to give a months notice to the council as I was living on my sheltered housing scheme. Because we had a month we we decorated before we moved in.

ivyleaf your throat sounds like a side effect of medication. I get these one sided sore throats. They can go in hours and rarely last longer than 3 days. ibuprofen seems to help best. If you feel ill with it it is probably the weather. It's a good excuse for lots of ice cream.

This thread is continuing to accelerate It took me two hours to catch up and I did come on the thread before I went to bed.

It's awful for a grown up to hear when a youngster dies so I can imagine the world of confusion HT is feeling Cranky. May your house be blessed with calmness in the coming weeks. Naivety takes so many of our youngsters. :(

Mine has still not done anything, perhaps in the weather we're having watching grass grow would be even more tedious that waiting for the compost bin to explode, anyone doing some painting? watching it dry may be the high spot of the day!
Maybe it's a variation on the "watched pot never boils" thing - "A watched compost bin never explodes". :rotfl:

If I had the energy I'd throw a tantrum. I can't for the life of me find our Emergency Fence. I was sure I bookmarked it, too. *cries*
    Ah - scratch that, I've found it.:T

Fwiw, when I see some of the impolite and frankly nasty pish-tosh that appears on other parts of MSE (ones that I have peeked at and run away scared, may I add) I am flabbergasted that One Of Our Own has been so poorly treated. :(

I am also very sorry to hear Cranky's news - I hope the HT is ok.

Indi beat me to the letter box this morning. Post consisted of some forms I needed to fill in and return - cue much fun (not) with chewed bits of paper and a roll of Sellotape.

I'm loving this long sunny summer :)
But I'm pretty sure it's because I'm up north and it's not nearly so bad here as a lot of you are getting it further south, that would be too much for me!

Also have thunderstorms forecast and a wet and rubbish Sunday to come, hope the sun comes back next week.

How do you put sun tan lotion on your back when you're alone? (just from neck to bra strap, no bikinis here :))

Have just ordered a spare wheel for the second hand car I've bought. I might be old fashioned but I really don't like the idea of only having that gunky stuff to put in the tyre when you have a puncture. I want the security of a spare in the boot!

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

I'd say, there are many forms that would have the quality dramatically improved by a good chewing and liberal application of saliva :D

True - but this one was from an organisation to do with childhood incest survivors, so rather important to me!

I'd happily let Indi loose on my tax return (which I still haven't done) except that I do it online.
