tuna What a horrible time! I hope things have calmed down now. xx

Reading about mar's uncoooperative batch of tablet reminds me of the time my mother decided to have a go at making fudge from a recipe she hadn't tried before. I think it was called Milk Fudge. It refused to set! After stirring furiously for 30 minutes she ended up pouring it away. These days I expect if it happened to me I'd keep the runny fudge to pour over ice cream :D

When I lived in Scotland there was a tuck shop across the road from school. They sold gorgeous tablet. And Duncan's hazelnut chocolate. And sausage bridies. And steak bridies.......happy days!

Hic, we walked across to the nearby pub as they had an open air theatre playing. I asked for a gin and tonic in a large glass with lots of ice. What I got was a large gin in a large glass! CHS has had to steer me home and I think I'll have a lie down before I start to cook!
    Chin up, Titus out.

Oh Tuna, don't know about chilling on here, I'd be unable to string a sentence together after all that. Hope things are calmer now.

Monna, you know that red wine is one of your five a day. You just start with a very small glass :D.

Lordy Tuna, how did you cope with that?

Well done on the veggies fuddle, I have peas and beans in the freezer ready for Christmas day. Carrots and parsnips are coming along nicely, just not sure when to pull them - can anyone help? By the way, who knew there was so much greenery on top of parsnips?!

I wish I liked tablet, someone at works Mum apparently makes fabulous tablet but my teeth hurt thinking about it.

It's been threatening rain here all day with huge black clouds all around but nothing has come of it yet. The grass has been cut so it can rain all it likes tomorrow!

tuna I can't top Monnas exclamation, It sounds Horrendous. I do hope things have calmed down. This is not a satisfactory situation. Did you register that in this sort a case you are a medical emergency that only an electrician can fix? People are so stupid.

If they cannot cover it you surely ought to be able to transfer your cover to someone who can even if it is the middle of the night. You also ought to be able to get money back from them.

Well I tried to get rid of a few things buy putting them out like Lyn but the kids took them and now there is one big mess outside. The kids have been using big lumps of dried soil to put in the front door to stop it locking them out so there is a big mess inside!

I was hoping people may take things and if not I will call, the man who took my computer stuff for me at a lot less than the council would. It seems to just add to the nightmare of these refugees.

I have created a big space for them to put down airbeds. Hopefully DD can help move the blanket box she will be taking with her, to under the window. That should give plenty of space.

Polly DS lives in a different time zone.Friday Saturday and Monday are the busiest days at work. He only has Tuesday off this week. I don't want to bother him just to move something two foot. DD comes Tuesday afternoon. The charity shops have all turned down the bookcases. I did ring round them. The hospice shops do not do furniture.

Evening all. LW - does the anti snoring spray work?

I've had a lovely weekend and still two days of fun to come which may now involve a trip to the old fashioned sweet shop in town to get some tablet.
Spend less now, work less later.

There is nothing remotely scary about Tarot, fencers - they are just wee bits of cardboard!
I've been a reader since my teens and I'm still totally normal. As you all can testify. :rotfl::rotfl:
  • Oh Nursemaggie I'm so sorry you had problems with trying to give your surplus to needs things away, we've had the table out for 3 days now and the only time I felt there might be a problem was this afternoon when 4 youngsters round early teens were messing about on the table and took some things but then came back and almost cleared it, they had to take something, it didn't matter what so I went out and brought it all back inside. The remaining books will go to the book bank tomorrow and the last few odds to a charity shop tomorrow too. It's sad when you try to do something good and other folks spoil it xxx.

Morning all. No one on the night shift?

I am creeping round an hotel room in London trying not to waken OH. Even though he has kept me awake half the night with his snoring.... i am off to st Pancras shortly to catch the Eurostar to Paris to then travel down to the south of France to visit my friend for the week. He is going to work hence why I am being nice to him..especially as he has been at work all weekend.

Had a great weekend, out for a meal with friends on Saturday at posh restaurant to celebrate their marriage. So they paid :D. One of them is OHs longest standing friend. He came out 16 years ago after years of us silently imploring him to "just bl00dy tell us". He has been with his husband for 14 years and i am so happy that they are now married.

Yesterday DD and i rounded off her birthday with a trip to the theatre. The show was good, but a bit too teen orientated for me. DD loved it.

Anyhoo have great day all. I'm off to France..
I wanna be in the room where it happens
