Tunathe cat I hope to goodness everything is now all up and running, and stays that way. What. A. Nightmare! Is Mr Tuna settled and stable now?
LW could you bear to employ some help from a paid carer or would that be just too much to manage?
Unfortunately even that is so far beyond my comfort zone as to be non-viable. :( I just can't have people coming to the house - even a friend of Mr LW's, whom I have known myself for 16 years, visiting throws me into a blind panic, very often to the point of being physically ill.
Can I ask if anyone has had problems ordering from Amazon in the last few days ? I know they had an issue earlier in the week and asked people to strengthen their password by reentering it and typing the random letters beneath . I've done it three times and still they're asking me when I go to order .
I've ordered from them this week (stuff came yesterday - new lap tray and some anti-snoring spray for Mr LW) and had absolutely no problem, and no strange requests re my password either. Sorry I can't be more help.

If I ever manage to make tablet that turns out, we will probly never eat anything else again :D
Hang on a mo..... I know Monna gets cross when her tablet does silly spelling changes, but eating it is a bit extreme, don't you think? :rotfl:

Tuna - your stress levels must have been through the roof! Hope things have calmed down so what now.
Fuds - well done you! I love the way you get your little head down and persevere and dont let the bu&&ers bring d you down.
Mardatha - I dabbled with Tarot about 40 odd years ago after a boyfriend bought me some cards back from the Carribbean. I found it a bit frightening as to how accurate they were - especially as I had little experience. I've still got them but not used them since.
Nothing much going on here - I did my stint this morning for the charity motorbike run. As it was good weather me and my colleague were really busy but took nearly £1500 for the charity from riders who registered on the day so a good result.
Just going to to chill this afternoon and decide what to have for tea ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Fuddle don't worry about your beans - they will soon start producing...I wash, top& tail and open-freeze mine, then they go straight into curry or the steamer for a few minutes and onto the plate :D Well done on your Christmas starter celeriac, that's something I've not tried yet...did you buy plug plants?

Thank you all and the dear soul who sent me links in private. I seriously couldn't function without you all dropping me tidbits.

Floss celeriac are a right royal pain because they grow so slowly and pretty temperamental. I had mothered mine from February as they need a long growing season but when I lost them I did buy plug plants, mothered them some more and now they're starting to swell in the ground. Give them ago. If I can do it, then heck you can!

    I meant also to say.....
Mardatha I've never used Angel cards; do let me know how you get on.
I have several Tarot decks, but I'm not terribly good with Tarot. Runes are more my "thing" - I have a set I made myself, from stones picked up in the garden. :o

Hell's Bells tunathe cat. How did you survive THAT? I can barely imagine the ranting and hand-wringing that must have gone on. It will be one of those "do you remember when?" stories for the future. I hope you have a few days of calm to recover in.

LW. The mere thought of Antoine eating my Tablet fills me with horror, although I may feel more kindly disposed towards Antoine consuming it in revenge for blaming him instead of 'anyone', which is what I typed. Does that make sense? No? Oh well.

I had a sudden rush of blood to the head this morning and packed another box of books - only about another 10 to go - followed by a good bottoming of my bedroom. It looks quite clean and neat and will stay that way until I crumble at the reproach in Millie's eyes and return her arrangement of beds and toys to their usual place.

fuds sweetheart, If you ever work out who you really are, you are streets ahead of the rest of us. You tell us who you think you are. We will tell you who you really are. You won't recognise the person that we are describing and wonder how we can be so deluded. Between all of us you will be no clearer than you are now.
Take my advice and muddle on as best you can, one day at a time. Some time in the future you will realise that you still don't know who you really are, and it doesn't actually matter. Life has taken over.

Now I think I am hungry so will go and eat something. It's my new non-diet. Only eat when you are hungry and stop when you've had enough. So far it's working only I realise that I am seldom actually hungry and it has taken me a while to recognise hunger. You can only do this, I think, if you live alone. I don't think families and spouses would take it kindly if they fetched up for a meal and there wasn't one because you weren't hungry yet.

Anyway, a chicken salad has my name on it.

:o I've not had such a green fingered year so far...rasps & srawbs all got moved so low yields, pigeons ate my beans - THREE TIMES!! - maincrop spuds have all died off, 4 tomato plants shrivelled & died after transplant to the greenhouse, blueberries got turned to raisins in full 32deg sunshine, rhubarb hasnt got its usual damp soil coz of the dry hot weather and I managed to forget to sow any peppers, aubergines & chillies :o Still, the 2 courgettes in the polycarb greenhouse are going mad, tomatoes are ripening, charlotte spuds have been great, the goosegogs & blackcurrants flourished, DH has had fresh beetroot for weeks and we have parsnips for our Christmas dinner! :D

Floss, you are evil! I have an unopened bottle of red wine which I am studiously trying to ignore.

Tuna  OMG I am surprised you are still on your feet after all that drama, isn't it amazing that most 'helplines' are anything but....

Monna Open the wine, A: it's made of grapes, so is part of your 5 a day B: it's very important to keep your fluids up and C: It's Sunday, and any day with a Y in it, is by nature, and excuse to celebrate :D

I have always been wary of Tarot etc ever since we did a ouija board in our teens and certain things happened that scared us all half to death - I do believe, but terrified to open to unhappy spirits :(
