A quick post back to say that in the last 10 minutes I have accepted an offer on my house and they want to move on September 1st.

I feel most peculiar but I have a small bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge and am contemplating a tiny celebration all of my own.

    Fantastic Monna!!!
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • And that makes three! well done Monna, now the fun starts eh? We have just had the contents list (fixtures, fittings etc.) for the new house, the estate agent told us the vendor was leaving all the curtains and the range cooker.....'parently NOT! they're even taking some of the light fittings and all the curtains and some of the curtain poles, how lovely. The EA won't put us in touch with the vendor, we've asked umpteen times so I'm going to insist we are allowed in to measure up for new curtains and I want confirmation in writing from the EA on just what IS and ISN'T being left in the house. We also find out from this form that the sale is subject to the vendors finding another property and we were told they would move into a holiday apartment they also own so I want confirmation in writing that they will be out by mid September as is stated in both contracts, Oh I've got me battling hat on today!!!

Superb news monnna. Was it the family you showed around, pointing out all the flaws in the house? You can find a little house, play cosy homemaking and heat a small house instead. Oh monna.this is just fabulous.

I'm very cross at the owners of house-to-be Lyn. Hmm I don't like it that you're in fight mode but it seems to me that they've reeled you in and then changed the goal posts. Well no. You got this.

Hester just awful for you. I can imagine you're propping up family just now and it'll hit you hard later. CHS might have to scoop you up a bit it eh? :(
  • They will find a very different kind of fish on the end of the line to the one they expect if they think we'll be reeled in M'dear. I am quite prepared to start over and find something else to buy and so I shall tell them when I've calmed down enough to be civil. I hope we shan't have to mess our purchaser around but I at least would be prepared to rent something unfurnished and small in the area we've chosen until we DO find what we want. Having said that I'm not going to pre-judge the situation until we have clarification so maybe this is stormy teacups again.....we'll see!
