Congrats Mona!! Sorry to hear about your SIL Hester. Mrs LWalker go get em gal!!
Just got back from treating OH to tea and cake, we are having a light supper tonight, smoked haddock, poached egg and brown bread and butter.
Towels washed, dried and put away, cleaners have been, so house clean and tidy....... yesterdays bed linen ironed. OH picking rasps, gooseberries and black currants. I will be freezing some of them.
We have had to move the lettuce round to the side of the house, they were frying in the sun. OH also dug up all the spuds so I have 2 sacks of spuds to use up.0 -
Hugs Fuddle and Mar.
Fantastic news Monna.
Oh Mrs LW, what a pain, you go girl.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
I sat in my car for an hour and 40 minutes and then they opened the road, I was on the boat for just under an hour before it was time to collect CHS.Chin up, Titus out.0

Monna, brilliant wonderful news
That`s interesting mrs LW, I will also be doing battle about being sure to have vacant possession and the curtains that she said she would leave. I am going to ask the EA to check the property just before completion and I am taking a witness with me. Blimey heck, I would not like it subject to finding another property
I have gone from excited to doubts to getting on with it to scary because today I had to gather all the proofs of funds. I do admit to having butterflies in my tum. 4-6 weeks to exchange and reality is hitting home. I have to take docs to the solicitor on monday and completion could well be mid august  tbh it is hellish frightening on my own0 -
Brilliant monna :j:T:beer: Now here's hoping you find the perfect little house for you.
Lyn If you have exchanged contracts the fittings should be in the contract. It is illegal to take light fittings though you can exchange them for something else, but it must be in the contract. They don't sound very trustworthy do they  I'm really angry for you. I know you wont take it lying down.
Hester still thinking of you I hope you are out of your car now.
Good news from me my flowers have been brought back. They looked rather worse for wear they had not been watered. Looks like someones mum made them bring them back.0 -
Superb news monnna. Was it the family you showed around, pointing out all the flaws in the house? You can find a little house, play cosy homemaking and heat a small house instead. Oh monna.this is just fabulous.
I'm very cross at the owners of house-to-be Lyn. Hmm I don't like it that you're in fight mode but it seems to me that they've reeled you in and then changed the goal posts. Well no. You got this.
Hester just awful for you. I can imagine you're propping up family just now and it'll hit you hard later. CHS might have to scoop you up a bit it eh?
What fuddle said.
Monnagran I hope and trust that just the right home for you is about to come onto the market!
I've finished writing to PALS; it had to be an actual letter in the end, as the hospital's email system wanted me to upgrade to Outlook 2010 and I was afraid something would go wrong and I'd lose all my email contacts. Even then, Mr ivyleaf had to set up Word for me because I couldn't read any of the headings on the bar at the top! So I've printed it out and we shall go to the hospital tomorrow so that I can make sure it gets to their office. It's a longish letter, but it had to be, in order to explain properly. I just hope it does the trick!
ETA nursemaggie Just seen your post and I'm so pleased your flowers have turned up again! Hopefully a good watering will see them right.
A long time ago now, a couple up the road bought the house that joins on to ours for the wife's frail elderly Mum to live in. To everyone's disgust, the people who had lived there removed all the light fittings, to the extent of simply cutting them off, leaving just the wires sticking out of the ceiling :mad:0 -
We haven't contacted anyone yet but have calmed down now and re-read the words and are going to contact our solicitor tomorrow to get the discrepancies sorted out if we can. They are leaving the range master stove but they haven't ticked any boxes, either leave or take, when it comes to curtains however they have ticked that they are leaving curtains in the conservatory (but I can't see curtains up in there ) there may be built in blinds but that wasn't stated when we viewed. I'm sure it can all be sorted out so feet are back on the ground until proven otherwise, sorry for the crossness xxx.
We haven't exchanged contracts yet, we have signed ours and it's with our solicitor waiting for all the legalities to be sorted out on both sides.0 -
Dear Hester, I'm sorry to hear of your SIL's diagnosis, psoriatic arthritis can be very draining. Unfortunately, a lot of the effective medication has troublesome side effects. Regular monitoring will be needed. Has he developed spondylitis? I hope his medical team can get it all under some sort of control.
Linda xYou never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have0 -
Thanks all. I am sitting here with a glass of wine. I've stopped crying! Don't know what was going on there.
Lyn, that is so unfair. Do you think that the estate agent got things muddled. I think they will sometimes say things that they think you want to hear because they don't want to lose the sale. Curtains and things are not so important but moving date IS.
kittie, I've been following your story with interest. I think when the first excitement has died and real life is staring you in the face, things don't look quite so rosy. I hope you can get things sorted out.
At least the two of you have found a home. I've not seen anything I've liked yet, at least, not at a price within my budget. The same bungalows seem to have been on the market for ages.
I am certain that something will turn up eventually.
Now, we just have t o get nursemaggie sorted.I believe that friends are quiet angels

both my vendor and me wanted the same conveyancer in the same solicitors office, I got in first and the vendor is with the same firm but a different office. Solicitor said in her letter that we were both progressive and she could see no hinderances of conflicts. Do you know, I have this awful feeling about the stuff she wants to leave, I don`t want any of it, I have my own but she never seemed to listen. It was not a good thing for the EA to let the vendor do the viewing. I am expecting her to try and leave allsorts but I will go through the contract very carefully. My vendor was also looking for a rental but having no luck
My neighbour here came with a packed removals van to find that the house was not finished, they had to leave everything on the van and go to a hotel for three nights, it was a terrible start0
