Have to admit that growing on the edge of moss land is a boon when there's little or no rain...until it pours down & the drains aren't running freely due to someone 2 plot rows down having accidentally blocked it up :mad:2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Fuddle peppermint oil or tea (or even chewing fresh leaves) is good for intestinal troubles... I always have a tin of those little mints in my car for that reason
Got peppermint tea. I'm onto it. I'm going to go calm meself down then try to research splenic flexure syndrome, which is what he thinks I have - gas getting trapped in the bends of the colon by the spleen.
There has to be water deep down after the winter we had floss... that's what I keep telling myself anyway :rotfl:0 -
fuddle, its your turn my love. You sat patiently through all our various dramas and have always been a shoulder to cry on. And now, as I said, it's your turn. If you don't tell us all about your health issues we won't feel free to moan about ours. Then we will all have to play the game of, "let's all pretend we're fine," which isn't what we are all about. That's a bit of a muddly sentence, hope you can make sense of it.
Anyway, let us know what the GP says.
Ivyleaf, I would always start a letter like that with something to get them on side from the first sentence. "Dear Wonderful People, I am amazed at how you deal with the hundreds of issues presented to you every day, you really are amazing. However, I have been chewing my finger nails down the quick waiting for a letter from you. If I don't hear soon my fingers are going to start disappearing.........."
I find that a bit of flattery followed by a touch of humour gets attention quicker than a tirade.
VJsmum, it wasn't until my boys had children of their own that they realised what they had put me through. They don't realise that because THEY know they are OK, it doesn't help your peace of mind unless they let you in on the secret.
Good luck with the mental well-being. When you find out where to get it, do please spread it around. We could all do with some.
It was cooler with a fresh breeze this morning so I rushed around getting washing done and out, up to the shop and back, a few household jobs seen to and am now sitting with a cup of coffee planning to spend the rest of the day drinking ice-cold water and reading.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I forget to love myself some days, but I keep trying. I keep trying.
And that alone is a victory.I believe that friends are quiet angels

As always, by the time I've finished typing, all the things I've said are already out of date.
I agree with Floss, peppermint is very helpful where wind is concerned, fuddle. Don't despair, it will all come out in the wash.I believe that friends are quiet angels

ETA Washing-up done, and hollyhocks watered. Judging by the shrieks coming from the direction of the local primary school, they are having their Sports Day
Ah, Sports Day. I have "fond" memories of sitting next to another mother who kept screaming "Come on Fred*! Come on Fred!" in my ear.
* name changed to protect the innocent.
At my son's first sports day we were encouraging him yelling 'come on Tarquin* - and he stopped running because he thought we were shouting AT him!
*Name also changed!!

Afternoon all.
SIL has psoriatic arthritis, the drugs prescribed for this have damaged his liver. He has also just been diagnosed with a degenerative spinal disease, surgery is possible but had a poor success rate.
I finally drove home after mine & SIL's appointment to find the road closed, no access to my boat, no timescale available and no diversion signs!
Just waiting to find out how DD gets on.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Oh dear hugs Hester. I'll be thinking of you. till we hear again.0

So sorry Hester. Your poor SIL, that is not good news. Let's hope that your dd has better news.
Where are you now? Still sitting in the car, or can you walk to the boat?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Oh Hester - so sorry to hear of the diagnosis, do hope DD fares better. Fuds - you have done the right thing - there is a vast difference from looking after your health because of past issues and being a hypochondriac and you're not one! Far better an ounce of prevention than a pound of cure.
Maryb - the worry never stops no matter how old they are but sending you calming vibes if they help .
Had my first hair trim today after the major cut in May. Salon asked if the new improver could do it for me - no problem. Sweet girl, asked me how I wanted it (just trimmed back) & promptly had a melt down & burst into tears!!! Salon owner calmed her down and she got started - very nervous and took over an hour to cut my hair. Didnt talk much to her as she was concentrating but I did tell her she'd done a lovely job and how pleased I was. I do wonder how long she will last though
Heard on the radio the cave divers talking about the difficulties of getting the children out of the cave. TBH I think those kids would be up for an accompanied dive out of there once they are fed and back to good health - they are all obviously resilient fit lads & would probvably look on it as another adventure.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
