I have to admit I love this weather too. I have not been too hot at all. The temperature did drop yesterday a little. Sleep wise I'm fine with a north facing window.
mar I do hope you can some decent pain relief. It sounds horrible. Thank goodness you did not do while on holiday.0 -
Still hotter than the Sun here, got into work to find they had taken all our desk fans for PAT testing - really - they needed to be done now?
Back home, cold shower and then sat in the cool of the north facing lounge till normal heat returns to body - did get dressed after shower BTW

Oh my goodness I am so parched and hot inside as well as out. I went for a walk after lunch as one of my walks takes in whole lanes of mature trees which give lovely shade and I was absolutely fine until I got back into the village and bumped into a chap who lives further down the road who lost his wife a few years ago and is obviously a bit lonely. In the full sun at the height of the day he whittered and reminisced on his childhood, his life, his friends and everything else under the sun. I tried to get away at least eight times and he'd walk two paces away and then come back with yet another little story. I am sympathetic to the fact that he spends a great deal of time on his own and in cooler weather I give as much time as he needs but today.....I was so uncomfortable in the heat that I could have whacked him! I feel like I've been boiled!!!0

oh dear Lyn, I'm afraid that i would have had to say something like "I'm so sorry but I must stop you there, it's lovely to chat but i must go or the heat will make me feel ill!"
I hope you're recovering now.
mardatha You poor soul! Definitely ask your GP for some strong painkillers to take the edge off. There are exercises for rotator cuff injury on the 'net if the hospital didn't give you a handout with them on. Get well soon.
nursemaggie I'm so sorry your plants were stolen.0 -
mar, dd says that ibuprofen and paracetamol, alternating works much better than either on their own. If you side sleep then use 2 pillows to give your shoulder enough space and consider using a spare pillow on bed to rest your other arm, which will stop that pulling across the shoulder. Look online for exercises to strengthen the muscles that support your shoulder, they will eventually help with the pain and repair. Sorry to say but it takes months to repair this shoulder injury0

You beat me to it Mrs L - wonderful news and apparently found by two British divers.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
