It takes me so long to write a post, answering as many people as I can, that by the time I get to post it, another half dozen have arrived.

Hoping that you are OK up there Polly.
I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.
  • POLLY I'm sure all these glitches and anomalies are just to stop us from being bored, it's all done from kindness and consideration for certain! It seems to be behaving itself today and I'm getting the old green screen when I log in not the monstrously bright new one!

The weather forecast says there is a small chance that the storms will by this evening reach Hampshire and also Sussex I long for rain but as with everywhere else it will do no good whatsoever to the garden plots as they are baked hard and solid and it will just run off. It will however hopefully give us a better water level in the water butts and maybe just soften the surface so that tomorrow we WILL be able to get the water into the crops via the watering can! I live in hope xxx.

Softstuff it is just a tiny door that attaches to the bottom of a tree or fence for the fairies to use. I'm sure Hester might use that term to describe something dodgy but I'm too innocent to know what :A

How very adorable! I think I might need to knock something similar up to amuse myself.... maybe a small gnome door going into a rock.

Quick post for now . Two long posts now somewhere in the ether .

Fuds What you've been reading is correct . The plan is more restriction on certain drugs . The first stage has been in place for a while regarding drugs that can be obtained over the counter , paracetamol , vitamins etc which is fine . This stage will be looking at other items including those which could be bought as over the counter meds and have a similar effect to the ones sanctioned by nice for prescription . At the moment GPs are still able to prescribe for drugs that generic versions cannot replicate . They are to do this using their judgement and knowledge of the patient .

Much of this is due to lack of funding but an eye towards what will happen if we do leave the EU re supply . I'm noticing more and more the problems pharmacies are having now getting a steady supply . No idea how the Amazon pharmacy thing will cause problems but a lot of pharmacists are seeing a much bleaker outlook for chemist shops in the future .

Nothing is yet fixed things keep being published , altered and lord knows what else so everything is a clear as mud .

Just take her to the doctor and have a good talk . I doubt he will refuse to prescribe anything that will help her . People who don't have it often don't know how much hayfever can impact on those who do . I hope she gets some relief soon .

    polly x

MrsLW are you now at that dull stage in a move where nothing happens? Have you got much that will need moving from the garden & plot?

  • It's 'Mills of God' stuff FLOSS, and as in the saying 'exceeding slow' but both houses have had a survey and nothing 'big' or 'unexpected' found, we've signed the contract which is now with the solicitor and we're all in the waiting game for due process to be completed. Very little to be moved from plots just some raspberry canes and rhubarb crowns from the allotment as both are good croppers and my Pyramidalis holly sapling which was a Christmas present last year to be moved from the garden. I've started packing things we don't need on a day to day basis and we both continue to shed unwanted posessions as we come across them. The book and clothing banks in the village have benefited enormously and the Sea Scouts jumble sale when it next happens will have a large donation, that just leaves the everyday stuff to pack and sort as we get a date. Exciting!

I am currently trying not to shout at the only horrible neighbour in these parts . So far this morning he has powerwashed 2 4x4s then waxed and polished . Powerwashed his driveway and will then powerwash the soddin' pavement ! Sprinklers back and front on the lawns too.

Local council stopped any watering of floral displays , grassed areas etc weeks ago . All golf courses , public and private gardens are brown . It's looking likely our water company will put a hosepipe ban on tomorrow . They should have just done it a few weeks ago as the cold water pressure has been very low for weeks . They've needed to draw water from the stored supplies for both the fire pumps and the helicopter water drops above the fire .
I feel like smacking the idiot with his power washer and sprinklers , he isn't breaking any law yet but he doesn't seem to understand some things require a bit of thought .
I'm feeling particularly cross and irritable today, so if you'd care to send him my way, I would take great delight in shoving the business end of the power washer somewhere the sun don't shine, and turning it on at full blast.
