Morning all
I got home at 7:30 am from babysitting and catsitting, I slept at DS's rather than attempting the towpath and gangplank at 1am. I shall have breakfast and try for a nana nap his afternoon.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
Just had a lovely breakfast of waffles, reduced fat pork sausages (not as nice as the chicken ones) and berries in the garden.
I've also just noticed some shiny black beetles on one of the lemon tree's flowers. They're bigger than aphids, but I haven't had much success finding them online. I may try picking them off by hand as there are many.
Softstuff, I don't have a body builder physique either but I know exactly what you mean. Levi's bold curve work for me at the top but was too tight on my calves.
OH has given me garden clogs and a fairy door and mum and dad sent a set of hand garden tools, so I have plenty of afternoon plans today.
Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
VJsmum, you sound so much like me, could we be long lost relatives?? My jeans are usually worn with my DMs. Brown though, not black, I only ever wear black shoes at work because black to me has always been work uniform and never the two should meet. Floss, I'd wear cons in summer too, but they pinch my toes
Mine are red! I lurves them. I wear Hong Kong knock-off converse... I am livid that i am developing a very uncool bunion given that i have always worn sensible shoes..
OH and DS are currently in the air homeward bound, but not due back till late afternoon as they are flying into an airport that is quite a long way away. Time to get the place tidied then...:p
I made BBQ pulled jackfruit last night - was most acceptable for (mostly) vegetarian DD and omnivore-but-with-a-huge-interest-in-veggie-diets me. I think i will do it instead of pulled pork always now... i am not even sure that pure carnivore DS would know the difference.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I am just so very uncomfortable with trousers/jeans/leggings so I avoid as far as possible.
I don't wear "nylons" of any sort; my feet will simply not tolerate being encased in nylon, so not even knee-highs for me.
That said, I wear full-length skirts and dresses, so at least my legs aren't on show (would scare animals and small children).
I go barefoot at home, even in winter, as even slippers cause me a lot of pain. In the summer, I also go barefoot away from home too - being in a wheelchair, I can get away with it!Having read some literature today it has been suggested that hayfever meds and saline eye drops be culled along with other items that are easily accessible on the high street. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks for the lovely recipe TiredTrophy, I may give it a go with some sweetener in place of sugar, and possibly raspberries. I've been after trying a custardy base for a bit now. Maybe Tuesday
FPK I used to wear the bold curve, medium rise, straight leg a few years ago. Best jeans ever. Then they discontinued them. They make a demi curve now, but the legs are super tight. I'm curious as heck what a fairy door is, but am not game to google.
VJsmum, I've eaten jackfruit fresh from a tree, but never cooked. It's something hubbys grandparents grow. It's a very strange heavy large thing fresh. Did you get a fresh one or was it somehow prepackaged? I can't really imagine them being shipped. You have to be wary not to cut it down with your best knife, since it's sap is like liquid latex, very sticky and hard to get off anything. I hope to add a second pair of DMs to what I intend to be a collection when I come to England this year. I've had many other shoes over time, but I feel better and more me with them.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

It comes in tins - it isn't cheap but no dearer than meat. The green fruit is the one to use in savoury dishes..I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Fuds I haven't had time to read back about your daughters hayfever so although I know you've had contact with the reception staff I don't know if she's seen the doctor face to face .
We are an atopic family . Myself and all 4 offspring have hayfever , various intolerances and allergies . Take your daughter back to your good GP . My two youngest now in their 30s have carried inhalers since childhood and been prescribed the steroid nasal sprays every hay fever season too .
Large sunglasses help a great deal to keep pollen from the eyes . I can't remember if one of your girls wears glasses which will give a little protection . I don't use vaseline but that or a similar greasy substance smeared around the nostrils helps trap pollen . I buy a tiny pot he name of which escapes me at the moment . It's organic and available in chemist shops and lasts a long time .
In my mind this is the worst allergy season I can recall . It started very early and keeps getting worse .
Let your Dr see her . He can and if needed will prescribe anything necessary . As you've been researching you'll have seen what your Dr sees when he checks meds before prescribing .
At the moment I'm checking 17 repeat meds to establish which EU country may hold the patent for them . Interesting times ahead and not in a good way .
I notice some of our friends down in the south may get thunderstorms . If you don't like them send them up here but hold the lightening as I don't think that's going to help with stopping those fires as we head into week 2 . I imagine heavy rain would be most welcome , we're used to floods up 'ere .
I am currently trying not to shout at the only horrible neighbour in these parts . So far this morning he has powerwashed 2 4x4s then waxed and polished . Powerwashed his driveway and will then powerwash the soddin' pavement ! Sprinklers back and front on the lawns too.
Local council stopped any watering of floral displays , grassed areas etc weeks ago . All golf courses , public and private gardens are brown . It's looking likely our water company will put a hosepipe ban on tomorrow . They should have just done it a few weeks ago as the cold water pressure has been very low for weeks . They've needed to draw water from the stored supplies for both the fire pumps and the helicopter water drops above the fire .
I feel like smacking the idiot with his power washer and sprinklers , he isn't breaking any law yet but he doesn't seem to understand some things require a bit of thought .
I shall try to catch up a bit . Welcome back Mar I trust the wee haggis hid in the undergrowth during your holiday .

Lyn No screen problem for me but that post I've just sent involved logging in a second time although I was logged in already . I've given up trying to work out what causes these different scenarios when you do everything the same way but the outcome can vary .

Good morning - morning by the skin of my teeth.
I do wear trousers, although I probably shouldn't. If something more formal is called for I wear a long skirt. It probably makes me look like Mrs Noah (the old fashioned Noahs Ark toys where the wooden figures made Mrs N triangular,) but I don't care. I'm not happy having my treetrunk legs on display.
MMF it's knee highs for me too.
VJsmum. What a disappointment - I wanted to say 'bummer' but realised just in time that I am old and expected to be more dignified than that - about the bunion.
I bet that the rest of your feet are a picture. I've also always worn sensible shoes, except for a period in the late 50s early 60s when pointed toe stilettos were all the rage. I wore a natty pair of navy blue and white stilettos to school once, not very sensible when teaching mixed infants, and my headmistress was overheard to say, "I suppose it's no good telling her she is ruining her feet.
Anyway my feet have survived, albeit with permanent corns on little toes as they don't seem to make square shoes. As I've said before, herring boxes without topses should be my footwear of choice.
Hester, make quite sure that you retire for your siesta, with gin if possible, you've certainly earned it.

Softstuff it is just a tiny door that attaches to the bottom of a tree or fence for the fairies to use. I'm sure Hester might use that term to describe something dodgy but I'm too innocent to know what :A0
