Polly - its so easy to call someone to account for their decisions when all the bad decisions were made years before down the line. Cannot begin to imagine how that poor man and those firefighters must feel. Its always easier to be wise after the event.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Softstuff 5 2 and more of a snow globe than an hourglass :rotfl:

I have just seen the footage of the moors on fire - just awful, hugs to any that are effected, and I hope those firefighters have enough teams up there to relieve teams often enough :o

Very hot here, house needs hoovering etc but really CBA, I have just received a copy of The Greedy Queen by Annie Gray, about Queen Victoria and the food she loved - just up my street, I may have to go and read in the shade before the workers return :D

I do wish Mr Nargle would stop getting into these scrapes! Do you have any grey hairs yet Nargle? Seriously, you two need to just stop being tested for a little while now. I'm hoping he,m's home and in situ by now.

Dito all measurements aside from the height. I'm not too tall. Bust needs to sling itself over my shoulders in this heat!

Silvasava I'm hoping that your breathing calms down real soon. I'm with you, it's quite debilitating. Try to keep chipper eh?

DH and I had a fab weekend. Harrogate was busier and bigger than I thought but quite lovely public gardens to walk through to RHS Harlow Carr. The flower show was on too so double bonus. On the Sunday we went to Knaresborough. I much preferred there. Quiet, quaint, pretty etc.

All is OK here. Juggling heat, pollen, watering plants etc but things are coming on really well now. This morning I have seen a female flower on my pumpkin at long last so I'm on daily hand pollination duty, so waiting for when male and female are open together. Ah, my life! :D
  • Nell and I have walked from Harrogate to Harlow Carr and it's a lovely path to take, loved the place when we got there too. Do they still have the run of little 'outdoor rooms' that are really small gardens, we really loved them!

Yet again I stopped getting notices for this thread mid morning two days ago. I don't know what happens and why it should happen. I have signed up for this thread about 20 times.

I do miss you all when the notices stop coming. Sorry it always feels like it was only yesterday you stopped mid-morning.

I got up really early this morning. I went on YouTube and clicked on a long video. I promptly fell asleep and slept through the lot. It was over an hour so I watched it this afternoon. I then went back to bed because I could not stay awake.

fuddle Glad you enjoyed Harrogate and Knaresborough. Before we moved to York when I was 13 we always had a week at the seaside mostly in Yorkshire and then the second week we went to York. We did all the sights in York. and had a day out in Harrogate, and Knaresnorough, An Abby in North Yorkshire, I remember what. Thinking of them brings back memories. I have not been back to York for over 20 years. No family there any more.

Nargle I hope your DH has come home buy now. I thought he was having Chemo from Monday. I have had all the worst symptoms of chemo the last few days. I thought I was having them in sympathy for him. May he not have any more reactions, that was a bit worrying. I hope when he starts the chemo it is not too bad.

I don't get it very often now, not the sickness anyway but the other has never stopped apart from the few weeks when they stopped the treatment. It sort of makes you think you are paying for the last couple of weeks of feeling well. Not had that long feeling well for a couple of years.

Not had any of the effects of the fire here but we are not fat from the town centre. I saw it on the news last night at least I think it was last night.

Nice to see you back polly.

I'm, just 4ft 9in and lumpy. I am hoping I have lost some weight. My scales say I have still been putting on the last three weeks. I have just about cut out sugar and only a tiny bit of carbs. I have mainly been eating meat, or fish and just lots of fruit and veg. I did start a jar of curry sauce on Saturday and it was so sweet I could hardly eat it. I have only eaten 5 slices of a very small loaf in a month.

Last night I ripped up a couple of slices of this very small loaf and made it into a bread and butter pudding, without butter or sugar. Well it worked. I did put in plenty of dried fruit including some cranberries. Would you believer it was a bit too sweet. I left it to soak over night and ate it just over an hour ago.

Oh gosh is that the time I had better go and get some milk.

    4ft 11 and lumpy here.
I've closed the curtains and blinds on the sunny side of the boat and opened the side hatch on the river side, its not too hot that way.

Well that posted OK . Another question , has that default thingy always been at the top left above a post ? I don't recall noticing it before . Probably just me .

Used to be 5'6 now 5'5 and shrinking. Narrow shoulders, 36E bust, waist 34, hips 40

Try getting anything on the High Street that would fit that sort of apple shape!! No wonder I'm trying to get back into sewing

But for all that I have clearly got more visceral fat than I should, I have low cholesterol and low blood pressure. Health professionals start on the approved script and peter out and shrug
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
