Morning all.
Marble, fingers crossed that DH is allowed home Today, although if he is flirting with the nurses they may be reluctant to let him go.
Silva, hope the breathing soon gets sorted. Unfortunately it's not an optional extra, is it? Your co-ordination level sounds about right to me. My brain lost any connection with my feet years ago.
softstuff, that is exactly my size and shape but I fail miserably on the height, I don't think that with the best will in the world 5ft 2 can be classed as medium.
FairyP, hope the moor fire is soon under control. It must be very scary. Whoever told you that my zumba would be full of whooping and cheeriness? Au contraire! Grim determination will be the order of the day. Not the suspicion of a smile will be allowed to crack our phizzogs. Tablet thinks that should be 'pharaohs ' but I don't have one of those, cracked or otherwise.
Tinydancer, It would be too hot in January for me to go to aerobics.
On with the day. My friend has just phoned to ask if I'm coming out to play today. That means trying to find somewhere cool to have lunch.
I've just heard that I have another viewing tomorrow.
Let joy be unconfined - which she is at the moment, not having got dressed yet.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sometimes you win. Sometimes you learn.
ETA. sorry N a r g l e I've just seen what tablet has done again.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna, grim faced determination or alternatively pale faced exhaustion is mostly how I approach all physical activity :rotfl: I swear that I'll get fit or die trying, sometimes the scales tip more in one direction than the other
MMF007, I've sent you a PMSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I've been watching the footage from Saddleworth over the last few days . We hit 30 degrees here yesterday afternoon so I don't know how all the firefighters are functioning in full kit day and night . I've seen moorland fires up close and it scary how fast they spread . Even the grass is tinder dry here so over on the moor will be worse . I keep thinking of all the creatures that will be fleeing as the fire advances rapidly . Think it's time to bring the army in before today is over .
I've been watching the senior officer in charge when the Grenfell fire broke out being grilled and judged wrongly by those looking into the fire . I doubt they will ever understand the training process was flawed easier to blame a first responder and all the men and women who put their lives on the line daily . Sorry but I'm tired of the buck being passed in these situations .
Parts of GM and Bolton are either getting the smoke or smelling the fire . As it's moorland it isn't classed as toxic but for the young , elderly and those with chest problems it isn't good . Asthmatics should be carrying and using their inhalers if needed .
I hope your husband had a good night Nargle .
I'm going to get a glass of proper Dandelion & Burdock and be back shortly .
polly xIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Nargle - my dad had the same problem, so had lots of steroids and antihistamines. It did mean he tended to doze through his chemo and couldn't drive himself there and back. But it also meant that by the time he was awake and functioning again most of the nausea had passed. Hope Mr N is home and comfortable again soon.0

Another flawless blue sky today and the mercury rocketing upwards. Out and about very early with the dogs before it’s too hot, quick trip to the hygienist then will be acting as chauffeur for dd2 today as her car is kaput. Suspect she is hoping to ‘inherit’ mine if I replace it :rotfl:
May I join the Zumba Monna? I’ve tried Zumba gold a few times to get some value from my gym membership but am sadly uncoordinated. There was very little whooping going on, just clips of music and a bit of stamping about.....
Does 5ft 6 count as medium? I often feel like a giant amongst my friends. Falling short on the size though, size 10 top to bottom and not much hourglass:rotfl:
Nargleblast I hope you and dh both had good nights and are rested. Hard to sleep in these temperatures!0 -
FPK there is a NASA photo on the BBC news site of the smoke on Saddleworth moor from space :eek:2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi Fencers
Mega-brainfog today so I'm typing this in OpenOffice and will cut'n'paste when I'm done. I may or may not remember to add emojis. Also, I'm playing catch-up as I didn't get onto MSE yesterday.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes; Monday was one of those nasty "anniversary!" days that I wish I could just sleep through each yearI still keep kicking myself as to how I could have done something so incredibly STOOPID :wall:However, onwards and upwards, I got a booking for Honey the Shih Tzu for September in my inbox yesterday, so that's a good thing. :T
Csarina hoping all goes well for your DGD; self-injecting is something I could not do in a million years; I go faint at the very sight of a needle. All respect to anyone who is able to do it.
Monna "If a man says he will do something, he will. No need to remind him every 6 months." Ooh, I like that - there's a certain gentleman around here that could apply to.
Alfsmum I'll send gentle healing vibes for oldest dog. I once had a couple of guests who came to stay together but had to be walked separately; Corrie was 16 years old and could just about totter as far as the local poo-bin and back, and Fingal, aged 5, wanted a good 45 minutes, preferably at the full 4 mph my mobility buggy will do!
Ivyleaf I often sit on the floor, usually to play with a guest dog; or otherwise if I'm feeling dizzy, as you can't fall any further if you're already on the floor. I also sit with my feet tucked under me if I'm on a chair at the computer, as sitting "normally" hurts my coccyx.
Oh.... just seen your subsequent post.... I hope all the young people are ok; as you say, a car is only a "thing2.
I don't think, from what I've read, that zumba is for me; like Vjsmum I do not whoop; I'm more the "warcry" type.... I'll stick with my WiiFitPlus, I think. Bad enough getting Mr LW to vacate the room for me to do that (I dislike an audience, in case I fall over).
Nargle I hope Mr N's hospital stayt went well and he's not been left feeling rough; rotten luck to have a bad reaction to one of the drugs.
Softstuff I don't tick any of your size'n'shape boxes I'm afraid - 5'2", no idea what dress size (though 9 and a half stone, if that gives any idea), and I dunno what shape you'd call me, but "hourglass" doesn't immediately spring to mind.
Thirzah that sounds really scary about the fires; I hope they can be brought under control without risking lives.
Mr LW has just come back from collecting my morphine script from the surgery, so I guess a trip to S/Drug is in order now, to get it filled. I also need to pop to @ldi, as we're nearly out of milk - again. Not sure where it all goes to.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm 5' 6", hourglass (slightly too much sand in the bottom bulb at the moment :rotfl:) but *cough* size 24-26 *cough*Must use my stash up!0
-
Softstuff - 5'8 (and possibly a bit if I stand up straight...), hourglass (if I stand up straight...) but 12-14. Happy to help if I can though.0
