Softstuff, you're a bloomin' marvel, you are. I know where my next spare 25 quid will be going.
Now, if you'd like to just pop over and push my feet into the right places we're home and dry.
What are you doing hanging round here at this time? Shouldn't you be in bed?
Well, I probably should be in bed... but thanks to my zumba last night I ache so badly I'm putting off going so that I can be more tired and doze off despite the pain :rotfl: Plus, I'm not working tomorrow, so can afford to move more slowly in the morning.
And I will take no responsibility for any injuries that occur during zumbaing of any variety, gold or otherwise.
Seriously though, I see all kinds even at the standard zumba class, ages 16-70 in ours. It's one of those things where you can find your own level of effort really and put in as much as you feel able. MIL does it from time to time, it was recommended for lymphodema And as for two left feet, my hubby comes with me and is the first to admit he is "dance challenged". Not me of course, I'd be a shoo in for the next season of Strictly if anyone saw me zumbaSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I chuffing hate zumba. All yhat cheeriness and whooping. I do not whoop....
I am currently standing in a queue in Disneyland. But at least it is in the shade... DD is dressed as Winnie the pooh. She is 22 years old... :rotfl:
(I should stress that she isnt in a furry suit but does a thing called Disney bounding where you wear the same colours)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I'm rather late posting today; we've just changed internet provider and was waiting for OH to get home so he could set up the WiFi side of things. He has been taking DGS1 and his fiancee and housemate to hospital after a car accident this morning; thankfully they don't seem too be much hurt, but they had to wait at the scene for several hours for the recovery truck  OH waited with them for the final 2 hours or so, then dropped them off at A & E. It was DGS's fiancee's car and it's now a write-off, but a car is only a "thing".
We were unsurprised, after OH had connected to the internet via the new provider, to find that BT had sent him an email to say they'd switched off the internet connection during the night * rolls eyes* Yes, I think we'd gathered that!0 -
Good news Ivyleaf that the people are ok, like you say, the car is just a thing.
I used to go to Zumba, no whooping but lots of laughter. Unfortunately I just got giddy so couldn't continue. Also used to run, now my exercise is just dog walking, the occasional bike ride and a few minutes here and there in the gym.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Scorching hot here too. Great day for dress shopping - not. Had bought a dress online in 2 sizes. It was the perfect dress, but neither fit. The larger size should have been plenty big enough
. Best get on that Zumba dvd with Monna. Bearing in mind I needed the dress for Saturday had to go on an emergency shopping trip. I hate clothes shopping with a passion. Fortunately found something that doesn't make me look like "a bag tied in the middle" as my Grandma used to say.
Stay cool everyone.

Spent some time this morning trying to sun-proof the house! Curtains drawn on the sunny side, opposing windows opened, but realised i was letting hot air in but no breeze, so shut some windows! Had 1/2 in the garden reading about the history of the tudor 'Speke Hall' in Liverpool, then did lots of domestic admin. Almost completed a long to do list
Just had a late lunch in the garden while DH cut neighbours hedge. Heard DH say, oh no. Panicked there may be blood but he was OK. He had cut their tv aerial cable! I checked online and DIY store nearby had necessary splicing kit so I whizzed along to buy it. We have repaired and left a note through neighbour's door to explain. Fingers crossed it works!! My car thermometer reading was 30.5°C.
Just got to draft a letter for mum to send and make a birthday card for a dear friend then i can relax for the evening.
Well done to Mr Ivyleaf for helping the shaken roadusers. I expect they will be very stiff tomorrow but hopefully nothing worse.
Snap, Hester! We haven't had anything done to our bottoms but we have been budgeting for big spends. Spending big money makes your eyes water, doesn't it?!
I am embarassed to say that we spent most of the bequest we received a few months ago, and some money mum gave us 'to cover your expenses' (I had to miss 5 weeks of self-employed work when dad was in hosp) on a holiday for us and the in laws, who are celebrating 60 years of marriage, yep, SIXTY. They are amazing people that one might call 'the salt of the earth' but that sounds patronising. Certainly if anyone deserves a holiday it is they.
That and some home improvements have eaten it all up.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Sounds like money well spent though MMF
Panda i'm glad you found a dress you're happy with. It's so difficult buying under pressure! Have a lovely time on Saturday.
Jazee If Zumba makes you giddy I'd better not try it, as I seem to be prone to vertigo
I've heard from our young family members who were "bumped" this morning and thankfully they are all ok, though DGS's side is sore and the doc warned him it will probably be worse in the morning. His fiancee says he always has trouble getting out of bed anyway0 -
Remind me MMF never to buy a house next door to you. If you weren't killing my lawn you'd be cutting through my cables. Honestly, talk about the neighbours from hell. Does your DH go about doing good to others? And can you tell who the others are by their hunted expressions?
Next time he is being a good scout and about to do his good deed for the day, sit on him.
Right everybody. Zumba classes for the old, fat, unfit and co-ordinationally-challenged will begin at chez moi as soon as I've gathered enough shekels for the DVD. Sorry it won't get you shapely enough to wear the dress on Saturday, panda you'll just have to breathe in hard.
Csarina, if you are reading along, and I know you do sometimes, did I read somewhere that you are coming to our Island for your hols? Goodness, I hope your injections are up to date and you've got your passport ready. Let me know when you are coming and Islandmaid and I will organise the welcoming committee.
I'll even dust off the bunting for you.
Time for bed. See you all tomorrow.
Oh, I nearly forgot. Nice to see you back Polly, you've been much missed.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Good evening Fencers! Just me, the dog and the cat here at Chateau Nargle. DS is out with friends and my OH is having a little overnight stay at the hospital. He had his first treatment today, not the chemo drug but the other two that work on the cancer cells to prevent them growing. First drug went through fine. Second drug - silly man had to go and have an allergic reaction to it! Apparently that can happen with this particular drug (Herceptin). He had the usual treatment (steroids, antihistamines) and was closely monitored throughout the afternoon. He was hoping to come home this evening but they wanted him to stay in overnight to be on the safe side. I took him some overnight stuff and his medications. He is fine, full of yap as usual, making the nurses laugh. Just a little blip. He will probably need to have that drug again but next time they will be forewarned, and will load him up with steroids and antihistamines beforehand. A peaceful night for me, then, and after charging around hospital and supermarkets and doing washing and walking the dogette and feeding myself and DS - I think I am more than ready for an early night! One life - your life - live it!0

Monna, you are right. He means well but I had to bite my tongue when I heard what he had done!!!
Suffice it too say that I do all the DIY in our house :rotfl:
Nargle, hope you both have a comfortable rest xI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0
