Have a good night's sleep Nargle - tomorrow is another day. Glad DH sounds upbeat! Just wondering how Burtha and Karcher are getting on - hope both just busy with RL and not stressed.
Still having breathing issues but seeing Nursie again on Thursday. Hope she can get me sorted.
DH & I did some work in the garden today - not scheduled - I asked him to power wash the small patio but once he'd started he carried on with the path too & then he decided to prune two of our rhododendrons and clear out a jasmine that had died - I sat on a stool with the secateurs and chopped all the prunings up small to go in the green bin. We had a friend of DS2 round to take the top off the flue to our wood burner. We keep getting fledgling starlings falling down into the back of the woodburner - think we've had one every day this week and two on one day! DH has fashioned some chicken wire round it and friend will be back on Thursday to replace it for us.
Zumba - sounds good but my coordination leaves a lot to be desired so best left ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

VJsmum, we definitely don't whoop in my class, that's why I quit the more local aerobics (it was more like a pink frilly cheerleader squad). We do however sing along to songs we have no idea of the words, let alone the meaning of :rotfl: We're probably ordering green eggs and ham in spanish for all I know.

So glad they're ok Ivyleaf, even if the car is a loss. They'll feel the jolt for a bit though to be sure.

Odd question, are any of our lovely fencers size 16-18 with an hourglass-ish shape with a fairly large bust, possibly of medium to tall height?

MMF007, my dad always used to say that money when money arrives unexpectedly you'll need it. And besides, what good is it if it's not to spend. Though I think you could cut back on the budget line that says "Repairing OH's good deeds" :D

Ivyleaf, I'm very prone to balance issues and vertigo, but have no zumba problems, but I'm ok jumping up and down, others might have that issue.

Floss, you're too small ;) Shanks, close, but not quite, 2 out of 4 isn't bad though.

I'll explain the reason soonish, there's nothing like a bit of mystery though is there :p

    Morning all,

Another bright and sunny one here! We're relatively close the the large moor fire and have had a lot of smoke the past two evenings. Apparently some families have now been evacuated (not from our town). I'm really hoping they can get it under better control soon.

I don't think I tick any of the boxes. I'm 5ft 7, tending towards a pear and somewhere around a 12 on the bottom half.

Silva I hope your breathing issues are sorted soon.

Nargle, so sorry to hear about the allergic reaction, but they now have a plan for next time which should hopefully make it go far more smoothly.

Ivy, I'm glad it was only the car that really suffered. I hope the aches and pains fade quickly!

VJs--I'm with you on the Zumba. Cheerieness, whooping and the excitement, but then I've been a curmudgeon all my life and see no reason to stop now:rotfl:

Hugs to all who need them.x

We're about five miles away from the moor fire and can see smoke during the day and flames at night. On Monday we could really smell the smoke and had bits of ash in the air but the wind must have changed slightly-either that or I've just got used to the smell. It's scary and I feel for the families who have been evacuated. We have friends who live in Greenfield so are hoping their house is safe.

Thirzah, I really hope your friends don't have to evacuate! It sounds like the conditions have been very trying for the fire service, mountain rescue and parks and forestry. They must all be exhausted.

    Second Anniversary
    Morning everyone,
Thought it had been raining here when I looked out. Everywhere was really wet but soon realised it was just heavy dew. Amazing, it had soaked the chair cushions that I had left out.
As I am on watering duty while DH is away, I would quite like a little shower (overnight of course!!)
I absolutlely love this weather although I appreciate for some of you it can bring difficulties.

I did miss my aerobics class this week as it was too hot. I love it as its just like dancing cos the music's great. Never tried Zumba. Let us know how you get on with the DVD Monna.

Been looking at those fires on the moor. Looks horrific and dreadful for the poor people being evacuated or even having to keep everywhere closed up.

Not really read through, but I did see that Mr N was having to stay in hospital. Sending good wishes and hope he is home soon.
Glad your folks are ok Ivy and only the car was really hurt.

Thinking of you all and sending virtual hugs to any of you suffering at the moment.

Softstuff - yes to all the stats except I'm shorter!! Not much help really if you are wondering where to buy good fitting clothes!?.

Today is going to be HOT and I shall be cleaning for my clients (*insert sweating emoji*), although one lady wants an outing. Perhaps we can have an icecream in the shade??
Oh, and someone has asked me to do some cooking. I knew my certificate in food hygiene would be useful on my cv.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
