    Good morning.

Hope you are all enjoying summer. We haven't had a spell like this for a long time, have we? I think its a shame that we don't know some time in advance that this is going to happen. With our usual capricious climate we can never be certain what each day will bring, so we don't make long term plans.
    Never mind. Carpe diem.

Have a line of washing ready to go out. Even with my feeble hand wringing it should dry today.

Nothing much else to say. Mark this day in your diaries. The ever babbling brook has dried up.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

    Creative minds are seldom tidy.
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.

Thank you SO much for today's thought Monna. Clearly it's the trying to be tidy that's stifling my creativity ;)

I'm doing laundry too - getting blankets washed as I attempt to empty the bedrooms ready for this week's big furniture move round.

Today is, for reasons I won't go into, a difficult day for me, so trying to keep busy.
So.... being as it's hot, hot, hot here in Concrete cow Country, I decided to wash the throw I have of the sofa (keeps doggy hairs and muddy paws off the actual sofa ;) ).
It's ages since it was done - the reason being it's too big to go in the washing machine, so I have to do it by hand, in the bath.
I got drenched in the process; and it's so heavy when wet that even between us, Mr LW and I can't get it up onto the whirligig. So we've done a sort of Heath Robinson affair with the aluminium step ladder laid flat between two wooden garden chairs, and it's laid across that to drip. The idea is when it's dripped sufficient water out to be light enough, we'll move it onto the whirligig.
Doesn't matter if it's not back on the sofa today, as next dog isn't due til Saturday.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

LW lets hope today passes quickly for you then x Be kind to yourself x

Wish I liked sunbathing, I think in this heat all my fat bits would render down to nothing :rotfl:

DS due to start work at 5:30 - at 5:10 I knocked his door - panic stations  - by some miracle he was only 5 minutes late - good job I bothered to press his uniform and make his lunch yesterday, and that he only works 5 minutes away :D

Not a flattering view - but our baby rescue cat Bobbi has been like this for over 20 minutes shade bathing

  • Phew its been hot here today. Have been waiting all day to hear if DGD has a clot in her lung, she has, at 33 she is a bit young. Had a call a short while ago, she has to have a special blood test, see the Dr, collect her medication and can then go home. She is going to have to inject herself.........

A bit of a come down after yesterdays news that my grandson and his partner are having a baby in October. Our 6th GGC,

Deleted_User sorry to hear about your Granddaughter. I hope the medication gets her healthy quickly. As someone who has recently begun daily injections I can say I have quickly got used to doing them and take the attitude of 'I am just glad that there is something I can take to try to help'. Best wishes for her and congrats on no. 6 being on the way.
I have emailed Tesco this evening to tell them how unhappy I am about the plastic bags they use on my deliveries despite my ticking 'no bags'. I should have done it weeks ago but I have finally got round to it. I don't intend to let it go now I have started and I am going to follow this up and keep pushing. I might not be able to do everything I would like to these days but I can make my objections know and I intend to.

So sorry about your DGD, csarina :( Sounds as if she's got the necessary treatment though :) Our DD1 had the same thing but at least she waited unitl she was 40! They never did find out what had caused it. The only thing they could suggest was that it might be due to her habit of sitting reading with her legs tucked under her.
