Sorry Nargle, he is very lucky to have you to look after him. I just had to get on with it when I came out of hospital. They will do their best for him, they always do. Can you get any time off? It would be much better if you could work shorter hours for the next few months.0

Does anyone else ask taller strangers to reach things on a high shelf in a supermarket? I am 4.10 1/2 if I stretch myself and re the plumptiousness, well the same sized organs in a smaller space, think of a smaller container holding the same amount, of course the sides bulge
Mrs LW, are you and hubbie on painkillers yet? Sounds as though the move is going very well but the aches, all that lifting and carrying. I remember it well0 -
Huge hugs Nargle.
NM I had a kitchen fitted and had to call the fitter back in to lower the shelves in the top cupboards, he's 6ft 2!
We're up and ready to move into the dry dock.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Nargle sometimes black humour is what keeps you going through the carp that be cancer, me & my 3 brothers honed that while our mum was ill (hers had also gone elsewhere beside her bones). Would there be scope in leaving Mr N a carefully handmade sandwich cut delicately into triangles when you are on your late shift, if he could do his own lunch from leftovers/ ready to ping plate? Might be a way of him having sensible-timed nourishment when the effort of getting through the day catches up with him.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Nargle (not Marble!) Sending positive vibes to you and your DH. Glad to know you are looking after your health too.
Softstuff - I would lurve your house! My mum couldn't use my grill or most of my cupboards and she was 5'5". When you are taller than average you learn to jacknife yourself!
Islandmaid - belated congrats to your DD. Your drive out sounded idyllic - it was such a lovely evening.
Still got the sore throat, feels like I've had a cheese grater down it. Gargling with aspirin helps but think I'll get some proper throat sweets today.
VJsmum - have a lovely holidaySmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I didn'tread your words as being flippant. You were retelling a story, a story that you hate to the very core. Nargle you came across as being determined that's all. You will have seen how positivity can bolster health in the most dire of circumstances so to me, you're rolling up your sleeves, putting the emotional stuff on the back burner and showing that C that it isn't going to beat neither of you.
Don't you worry about how we read you. We want to be with you through it all and if it sounds all a bit matter of fact, that's how it is. We can read between lines very well.0 -
Nargle carry on posting whatever you want, whenever you can. The folks here want the best for you and your OH. We're not here to judge but to offer support and to wish we could do more to help.
I am learning that legs are meant to dangle from toilets and kitchens are meant to be cluttered with duck boards and step stools. Trip hazards? I prefer to think of it as an obstacle course and those are sporty aren't they. :rotfl:0 -
Go Nargle!
Sending you strength.Eating well and rest is paramount.
I have a fluffy ginger cat. Very jealous of the Collie.0 -

We find it's safer here.... the number of times my hubby has hit his head on things in other places, it's no surprise it made him daft enough to marry meI was chatting to a lady today, at my line dancing class, she was about 5ft 2, about height. And she said you're not that tall... at which point I straightened up :rotfl:. I spend half my life with my legs apart, half bent and slumped down in the body just so I don't tower over folk. Apart from anything, it's darned hard to hear what people are saying when they're that far below!
Nargle, I wonder if my brekkie bake might be any use to your hubby. I fry some beef mince, mushrooms and spinach together, then pop them in a dish with chopped spring onions, cover in an egg and cheese mix and bake. When it's done I slice it into portions, then it's good to freeze. You can then eat it hot or cold. It's a lot of calories, that are very easy to consume. Just a thought for something to leave him.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
