And burying him under the patio would make a mess just as you've got everything sorted
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Quite... But the death in service payout is good :p.

I should point out that we are in the middle of the country so Kent is a LONG way away.

How is it possible to love someone and positively detest them at the same time....

Now he's cross with Ryanair... , which he's only travelling on cos he changed the arrangements.

Vjsmum, it's surely quite possible with all the travel plan alteration, just to "lose" him somewhere? :D

Can't remember if I've shared this before:

It's a really good brekkie, I add a bit of double cream and some blueberries on top.

    Morning all,

I've been away for work and haven't had a chance to read back so forgive me for not being up to date.

The work trip was productive but exhausting, and that was with my adamant rules that I will not work twelve hour days and then do the socializing networking thing. Managing to stick to my new eating plan wasn't as difficult as I'd anticipated. Breakfast wasn't included in my room rate, but there was a kettle. I got a couple of those one pot porridge pots, berries, fruit and some almonds. The provided lunch always had an option that was ok, and the only night I ate out was sushi. The other nights I cobbled things together with a kettle and a sink.

Dad has continued to improve and is feeling more cheerful I think. Mum is slowly getting in the help needed now, which I think will make things easier on her. Dad still has a couple of minor surgeries needed, but I think they've addressed everything that was very serious as best they can.

OH and I are off on a small adventure today. A new NT property we haven't been to.

Hugs to all who need them. Nargle, I'm thinking of you. Nursemaggie, any progress on moving?

I hope VJsmum has left with everything, including her DH, intact. Failing that, look out for suspicious heaps of freshly dug earth.

Softstuff, you really are at the cutting edge of new food sensations, aren't you? I have just enjoyed my Sunday morning treat of a mug of Cocoa and Chilli tea on your recommendation. It's gorgeous but a bit expensive, hence the once a week treat.

FairyP. I am amazed at your will power. I don't think I could have been quite so enterprising and self controlled while being away from home. Well done you.
It's great that things seem to be working out for your Dad. Enjoy your outing today.

Nothing dramatic happening here. I have my mind on the viewing on Tuesday. I almost hope that the viewer doesn't like it because my prospective buyers are still hopeful that they can sell their house in time. Still, there is nothing I can do about that. What will be will be.

I am a bit of a... greedy guts :D There's scarcely anything out there food wise I wouldn't try at least once (sometimes to my detriment - the chicken feet were.... interesting). And I'm spending more on it than I used to, but still apparently far less than an average Australian household (probably due to not drinking much in the way of alcohol). I still love the chilli choc, but have also become partial to their tumeric tea too.

I've been away for work too FPK. I've found it surprisingly easy to eat well in this new job because it's a lot less frenetic than the old one. As you say, room rates without breakfast help as you can then make sensible choices (even a coffee chain porridge pot when on the go is better and better value than a hotel buffet where you just want fruit or yogurt).

I've been working out of the office in Sweden which provides breakfast every day - yogurt, milk, oats, muesli, granola, cornflakes, crispbreads, hard boiled eggs, cheese, butter and fruit are available. There are good places locally for lunch (like you I opted for sushi) and then I can buy a salad if I'm not eating with colleagues in the evening.

One of the things I like about travelling with colleagues (or to work with colleagues in other offices) is that I don't tend to be stuck in hotels having room service, as I'm working with people I'm getting to know, building relationships and spending time socialising with them. They're also helpful telling me where I can run and swim, so encourage me to keep active when I'm on the road.

VJsMum - I hope OH redeems himself soon, and that it doesn't spoil the holiday for you. I recommend a good book and headphones for the first couple of days ;)

Softstuff - have you tried the Vanilla Chai?

I have to admit I seem to be back on coffee, but have vast amounts of herbal and spicy teas that need drinking, so maybe I should make an effort to have at least one cup a day.

I do sympathise VJsmum. I am supposed to be away for the weekend, but left OH to decide what time we needed to leave for the airport. Missed the plane by about 10 mins. Fortunately not too much out of pocket. Oh and this isn't the first time; you'd think I would learn.

Since our big upright freezer decided to pack in it's probably just as well we were here. There are some interesting meals appearing on the table at Chez Panda and I actually had a go at making blueberry curd. It's not the most appetising colour, but tastes OK.

Nursemaggie, what do you actually have to do to move house in your area? It sounds a total nightmare. There must be a house so perfect for you waiting somewhere...

I share your pain VJsmum, I frequently threaten to push my beloved into the cut!
Thursday night her tossed and turned all night whinging and moaning about how ill he felt but refusing all offers of help or medication. Friday morning 7 a.m. we're heading into the dry dock and he's panicking about maneuvering the boat through a very narrow gap. Turns out he didn't have to, Joe the dry dock man attached a rope and hauled us in. As I said to CHS, well that was a waste of as good panic wasn't it!
    Chin up, Titus out.
