Had an email from Honey's mum this morning saying what time she'll pick her up on Friday; I cannot believe how quick her holiday has passed!

Sadly it's a month til our next guest, so we need to find some days out to do, I think. Possibly Wrest Park (I'm an EH member, and Mr LW gets in free as my Carer) and we have tickets for Bletchley Park which are valid til Nov; Mr LW loves going there, so even though it's not really my cup of tea, it's good to go somewhere he enjoys.

We have his pal coming over this evening - that's more stress for me. Don't get me wrong, A is an ace chap, it's just that I really don't "do" human visitors.

Then we have a "meet'n'greet" on Saturday with a potential new guest - a working Spaniel (can't remember offhand which variety).

No word yet from the horse-piddle re an appt for Mr LW with the neurologist. I'm trying to stay busy, busy, busy to keep my mind off it.

One thing I have to do urgently (ie in the next week) is put together a birthday card for a lady I don't know terribly well. She's the wife of another of Mr LW's pals from when he worked at Un1sys, and all I really know is that she likes unicorns and dolphins; and I don't have to hand any usable pics of either. I really must get my act together and get ahead with making the next few birthday cards we need to send; and I ought to start on the Yule cards, too, I suppose.

Anyways - as soon as Mr LW has finished on the WiiFit, we'll be taking Honey out.

Oh, pls forgive any typos - typing one-handed as the other is occupied with Honey and a tug-toy.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • LAMEWOLF what you need is a picture of a NARWHALE for the lady's card as it's a perfect hybrid of a unicorn and a dolphin. If she has a sense of humour she'll love that!

LW, I love the picture of you trying to type while also being at the anchor end of a tug toy. Millies current tugger is a toy monkey that she was given for Christmas. She adores it and its a miracle that it has survived thus far, it still even gives a faint, despairing squeak occasionally. What has not survived is the giant Kong that I bought at great expense. I think she must have buried it somewhere.

So much for the iffy weather forecast. Blue skies and sunshine all the way. And sweltering.

alfsmum, the visit to the hygienist was fine. She was very thorough and told me all the things I already knew.........I have a very small mouth, (cut the cynical cackles, I REALLY DO), my teeth are really close together and I have a traumatic bite that is going to give me trouble one day. I've been told all those things for 70+ years and it hasn't impeded my eating yet. Unfortunately.
Next time round I'm going to have nice white, even teeth. One of my unrealised ambitions, along with being 5ft 8 and drop dead gorgeous. Oh, and playing Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto to an appreciative audience in the Festival Hall.

As it is I'm 5ft 2 and drop dead nothing with wonky teeth. Oh, and I can just about play Happy Birthday to You if I have the music in front of me.

    Sigh!

I tried to post yesterday but lost WiFi just as I hit post. So I'll bore you all today instead.
I went to the hospital yesterday to get CHS hearing aid repaired, there was a suspect package found in the Oracle shopping mall so it was evaluated and all the nearby roads were closed. It took me 4 hours to get home and I'd achieved my 12000 daily steps in that time.
At 4 o'clock we had to move the boat as we were on a 48 hour mooring and I time was up, we struggled to find another mooring but managed to tuck ourselves in on the end of a lock landing, by now it was 7 o'clock I'd walked another 3 miles and still had to go back and get the car, I had an hour and 40 minutes to wait for the train, then a 25 minute wait to get across the level crossing. I finally got home just before 10 o'clock and I hadn't eaten since breakfast!
    Chin up, Titus out.

I hope you're all enjoying the dry spell and it's putting a spring in your step fellow fencers. I'm so used to hoiking the watering can around I've developed a strange looking thing in my upper arm. I think it's called a muscle. One arm, yes.I'm right handed :rotfl:

All is ok here. No real news to tell you all. I'm just plodding on. I'm coping on the plot. Saturday is fence putting up day. I can't wait because I have to walk right past the man. A physical barrier and a new entrance will be an end to it. I've lifted the first radish and continue to eat through the spring onions.

Hester ouch for both your feet and your stomach! The rest I know the feeling well the stomach as well.

fuddle you will have to carry the watering can in your left hand to get a matching muscle. You can use your right hand to water or you may water your feet. Glad to find a fellow right hander , we seem to be rarer than lefties on this thread.

monna we all have mouths too small for out wisdom teeth. Actually memories do change, that, the subject of prevarication, giving yourself too much too do, Hester suffers with that too, are all covered on videos from the same person as the one I want for you.

Said video was found yesterday and then the site went off line just as I clicked on it bu88er. Was really annoyed because I was having difficulty in getting on her website anyway.

After that was given an appointment at my doctors other surgery. had to go there the doctor I wanted was not available at the one round the corner for 3 and half weeks.

It is father than walking to the bungalow but I will be using that one as it is nearer, if I get the bungalow. She did say she would be referring me to the podiatrist at the hospital. I managed to get there in 40 minutes very good going I think considering all my joint problems and my feet. I need to have shoes made to fit my strange feet.

Waited 20 mins, in with doctor about the same, so took me over 2 hours to get back. I obviously walked farther than I can without slowing to a snails pace. She thinks my feet are making me work oddly and adding greatly to my pain. I know the feeling of not eating for at least 8 hours but not as long as Hester.

Honey has no less than 14 toys with her; 8 stuffed toys, 4 rope "tuggies" and 2 balls. And she will dig in her toy box for the precise one she wants each time; and "Ducky" goes to bed with her.

All the best people are 5'2", doncha know!! ;)

Hester I imagine you could've eaten your own shoes by the time you got fed!

    Another 5 foot 2'er here :D

Hester  how do you maintain the energy x

Lamewolf any chance you could link in with a Dogs Trust or RSPCA or similar locally for the occasional dog walks when you have a quiet period in pup sitting?

Monna fingers crossed with the house, and my sympathies for the hygienist, they can be brutally thorough :D

Softstuff as long as there are more positives than negatives with work x

You are all making me miss having a dog, but now is not the time for a new pup - I dream of having a smooth haired Dachshund called Frank, but I fear my tribe of felines would torment the poor love x

Islandmaid. No problem. I am measuring out the brown wrapping paper as I speak. She is smooth haired though a tad bigger than a Dachshund and I'm sure she'll soon learn to answer to, "Frank."
