LW - that made me laugh, the thought of you with a dog under your skirt!Spend less now, work less later.0
-
I'm sure she smelled them LW but being in your skirts was more fun.
I have been over to the bungalow. It's about three quarters of a mile away. There are two convenience shots about 2 mins away one Asian and a C0st cutter. The Asian shop had a better food standard score than the other one. It sells mostly Asian food but that's fine lots of cheaper Asian spices and pulses etc all in the well known British Asian brands at very reasonable prices.
I will use it for every day shopping. It's not much further to Mr M. I wont be using them as much because I use them more for Asian foods than other things.
There are two chippies within smelling distance. Plenty of other shops near by. Sunday is not the best day to see all facilities but I think there is plenty, a big dental practice and I know My Doctor has another practice near by so I wont need to change doctors.
The bungalows are exactly the same ones I saw on Wednesday and thought I like those. There are bungalows all round i a square with a few flats for over 50s in the middle. I think they are nearly as big as this flat but better designed.
They are a bit confusing the backs are at the font and the fronts are at the back if that doesn't sound to crazy. The front door with the number and the letterboxes open into the kitchen and the bedrooms are at the back. The back doors open into a little front garden with a few shrubs and a miniature lawn. There are steps up to the gate. There is room to park outside for visitors, so that is why I think they have switched the doors. The one I want is not the one with the enormous buddleia it is next door. There are washing lines in the back and a few shrubs. I should be able to manage that for a little while and then get someone to come once a week.
I have bid for it. There are only two others in competition and I have been reassessed as not in need of rehousing but in need of special needs housing.
I think I stand a good chance. Guess what there is? A Macmillan group that meets once a month so I can join that. There are other community things I could join near by too. Like a knit and natter, and a library, community centre and an international center. I did not realise there was so much to do near by.
I had just set off back when it started to rain It stared off spitting so I left off looking for the doctors. within a few minutes it was absolutely teaming it down. I came out on the main road opposite Mr M so I thought I will cut across their car park and down the steps and I'm nearly home. I could see a torrent of rainwater heading for the steps so I had to walk down a waterfall. Everyone else had macs on didn't they but I thought "I won't take my mac it won't rain."
By the time I got down the steps there was a big pond to wade through. I'm glad no one saw me come down those steps because someone would have picked me up and carried me down. The waterfall came up to my knees and the pond mid thighs.
Oh was I soaked. Kids kept asking if I was OK and offering me there macks a brollies. One girl stood with her brolly over me and I had not got a square inch of clothes on me, it was running off me faster than off her brolly.
I came in took my shoes off on the mat and went straight for the bathroom. I threw everything in the sink and had a shower. I then spent two hours trying to cut my nails. I shall have to give up and get a chiropodist.
I think my new shoes will have to go back I can't walk in them. Not even in the house. I think my feet have become too distorted for ordinary shoes I will have to give in and have shoes made by the Podiatry department at the hospital. I was offered them 5 years ago and I said I will stick to my trainers. I'm struggling with them now. I think my feet are worse than my hips for stopping me walking and the constant cramp does not help.
I think I will keep the skirts at mid calf as I think they are meant to be that length anyway. I shall have to go to church in trainers.
I've put all my clothes in the washing machine. I'll just go add my trainers too.
Sorry about the novel.0 -
NM that bungalow sounds ideal, but maybe put waders on your Christmas list if you will be going to Mr M's!! Glad you survived the experience and good on those youngsters who offered help.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I think a wetsuit would have been a good idea NM! The bungalow sounds good for you, hope you hear back soon. My Aunt wears Crocs most of the time as her feet are too bad for ordinary shoes.
Here's to a better night for you LW - I went upstairs to read earlier and woke up 2 1/2 hours later!0 -
I thought I was the only one that did that. I have laid down on my bed at 1pm with a book and woken after 7pm. It then takes a week to get back to normal sleeping.
I have frequently fallen asleep while knitting and managed to wake up later not having dropped a stitch.
The closing day for the bungalow is Friday 15th so not long. I expected a lot of people to be bidding for it.
I hope you get a better nights sleep LW. Camomile tea helps you relax, it seems to go well with Valerian.0 -
I don't need waders it was one of those sudden cloud bursts. probably rained about 2 inch in less than an hour!0

Do you think this is really it, nursemaggie? It sounds almost too good to be true, not only a much nicer, and hopefully quieter, place to live, but all these amenities on your doorstep. Somewhere to hang your washing! Dwell on that thought.I believe that friends are quiet angels

The bungalow really sounds ideal Nursemaggie, I hope you get it. And I hope you're well dried out by now. I think both the chiropodist and the shoes sound like good ideas, you really need to take care of your feet and when you can't get to them it's difficult.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
