Lyn, that's amazing news. Most surveys are pretty nitpicky so you are on to a winner there.
As for the cookery books, I bet most of us here will read that and nod knowingly. I have moved four times in the last 10 years, (fifth time coming up) and pruned my cookbook collection severely each time. It has a habit of regenerating pretty quickly.

Hoping all is well with everyone.
Softstuff, your present employment situation only seems to be viable for someone working for pin money. It would be useless for anyone relying on it to pay essential bills. I quite understand why you don't want to rock the boat but it all seems a bit precarious.

For an unplanned day yesterday, I accomplished quite a bit and knocked a few things off the to-do list. I'm hoping to do the same today, so I may be back later, or not if I am being a good girl.

No news Islandmaid. My EA phones me every week for a chat and to bring me up to speed on what is, or is not, happening. I really rate PB, they couldn't be more helpful. I told him that I think my For Sale notice has taken root, I'm sure I saw leaves sprouting from it.
This morning I switched on my emails to find that I have a viewer next week. Although I do have a prospective buyer I can't do anything until they have found a buyer for their house. So, I am still showing viewers round here, although they are a rare species at the moment.
The house next to mine has been on the market since the beginning of March and they have only had 3 viewers round. It's a pretty little house, much smaller than mine and immaculate but the buyers aren't out there.

Now throw the food at your menfolk and put your feet up. You have work again tomorrow.

It is indeed precarious, but prior to this job I was unemployed for a couple of years. Jobs around here are predominantly casual, those that aren't are full time salaried (so you get paid 38.5 hours, but work more). Rather a lot also specify you need to be under 21, which thanks to differing rates of pay here, isn't classed as discrimination. My friend has had 4 jobs in the same time I've had this and some of hers were far worse (she'd turn up for a shift and get told she'd got it wrong she wasn't on - she's not a person to make those mistakes). And as for it being viable only for pin money, that's why the company has ploughed through a number of receptionists too while I've been there. It doesn't suit me to leave though as yet, because when there is holiday or sick cover available I end up with 3-5 days a week work and even if I only work a 3 day fortnight, the casual pay there is better than many other jobs (that combined with the tax reduction means it's worth 5 days work at another job).

In any case, I just need to not whinge and get on with it ;) Who knows what may happen. I think I felt worse knowing that I'm trying to find my half sisters rent money this month too (a whole other story).

It's a real dose of excitement for you now Mrs LW, as Floss says all systems go. I hope you're able to sleep despite the excitement.

Monna, fingers crossed something happens soon, though then of course it's a case of where you'll head.

I have so much laundry today it's reached comedy proportions. Mostly because I'm getting new bedding ready for the new bedroom, I have the old bedding to wash, there'll be the bedding that's on there temporarily to go, plus all the normal laundry. Still, if I hang that lot out it'll be my weight training for the arms!

Morning all. Just lost my post and am dashing off shortly to the dentist for an appointment with the hygienist. Much worse than the dentist!
I'm hoping that it doesn't rain. It's not that I mind walking in the rain but I do object to arriving places looking like a drowned rat.

    I'll be back later.

Rather than be the sort of person who only chats to her neighbours when she has a tale of woe, I thought I would give you a contented update. I have had a pleasant few days. Nothing thrilling, just feeling more comfortable and able to get out in the sunshine. Since my crying session the other Sunday I have been increasing my walking and I am feeling the benefit of it. I did finish the skirt I was altering and although it has faults and I would do it differently another time, I did wear it on Monday when I went into town to go to the dentist and then have lunch with a friend. I had a good time wandering around in the sunshine and I realised how much better I felt compared with when I had seen my friend 8 weeks previously.
The pool I usually use to do my exercises is closed for repairs this week so yesterday I visited our local lido and did them there. The weather wasn't brilliant but it was a lovely place that I hadn't been to before and I have given myself the goal of being well enough by next summer, to return there and swim 2 lengths (100m). I would love to say 1500m but I have changed enough to accept the target of 100m.
Today will be a mixture of domestic chores, stretches, a walk, some yoga meditation, well I lie and listen to a piece on utube and usually feel calmer afterwards. I also need to to stock up on loo rolls, no tummy troubles, I just get about 3 months supply at a time to save money and petrol. As I will be using the car for that I thought I might as well come home the long way round via a charity shop that I haven't visited for ages and see if I can find any clothes to that I would like to alter.
Hope folks are ok, or preferably better. :)

Emptynester glad you are feeling better and well done on the swimming. Not a skill I’ve mastered ,though I did learn to swim at school many (very many) years ago.

Any kind of exercise particularly in the fresh air has a positive affect on our mood and it seems criminal not to be out as much as possible while we are having such glorious weather. The dogs have been shell shocked by all the extra walks and this evening I shall be plodding round at the back of a 10km race, moaning all the way but I will feel great when I have finished. I count my blessings that I can trot round at my age;)

Monnagran I hope both hygienist and weather are kind to you. My practice used to arrange my dentist appointment straight after the hygienist appointment so that I only had to make one trip, but now both ladies work different days I shall have to make two visits at the end of the month.
