Morning All - back from hols and about 8 pages to catch up with! Will do after I've tackled the washing and put the stuff awaySmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Good luck with the catching up Silvasava, I was simply distracted for a couple of days and haven't caught up yet.
Hope you had good hols, tell us about it when you've finished the washing.
LameWolf, isnt it just the pits when you are tired but can't sleep? Throw in the lupus as well and it must be well nigh impossible. The night must seem endless. Sometimes there is someone else roaming the forum and you can have a chat, but obviously not last night.
Is it possible for you to have a snooze this afternoon?
I'm not sure how I am going to fill in today. It is a beautiful blank just waiting for me to pick it up and run with it.
I may report back later.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
God loves the weird, the crazy, the pusher of boundaries, the sad, the inadequate, the chaser of dreams.
He has little use for the smug and self-satisfied.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Atishoo, sniffle sniffle.
We moved the boat yesterday, I walked the towpath to do the locks and bridges, then walked back to move the car, I did this twice, then I drove to collect dd from work. Then drove to collect dgd from a party then drove dgd to her aunties for a sleepover. As I was worried that I'd run out of time we moored in the marina overnight. I'd forgotten about the encircling willow trees and now my hay fever is in overdrive. I shall have a shower in a sec and then make breakfast, once that's eaten we will move on to find another mooring place.
Welcome back Silva, great news Camelot, hugs to those in need.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Hester sympathies for the Hey fever, DH is suffering terribly at the moment - at least you can move your house to somewhere a little less 'toxic' x
Monna I am the petrolhead in our family, it's mine, and I graciously allow DH to drive it occasionally :rotfl:
Lunch with MIL today, we have arranged a little surprise for her, as she has a new great grandson, so we are FaceTime'ing so she can see the new arrival - they live 'up north' and it will be a while before we meet in person
Apart from that we will be relaxing and sorting for work tomorrow :cool:Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Sorry to hear you've been up Lamewolf, lupus really sounds like the pits.
Monna, might I suggest reclining for a while during your blank slate, you seem to have been non-stop for a bit now!
Bit pooped here, we will be spending the first night in our main bedroom tonight thanks to finishing the last bits today. With a bed on a frame, not the floor (for the first time in years)

Lamewolf sympathy re lack of sleep. It really is horrible, I hope you get through today ok and sleep better tonight.
Hester, hayfever - dirty word. Hope you can find somewhere with less pollen to moor.
Camelot can this Granny give you a happy hug? Enjoy your Grandchildren.
Polly, I am very pleased to hear your daughter is feeling she will be able to study. Loving vibes heading her way.
Someone has a new car, please forgive me as I have forgotten your name (just this once your honour). Enjoy it, that what treats are for.
Monna, thanks for your 'thoughts for the day' I always appreciate them.
NurseMaggie I think that possible bungalow sounds worth a look. My Mam had a similar sheltered property in the North East and it was very good. Re your skirts forgive me if I am telling you what you already know but IF your skirts hang level when you try them on. I decide how much I want to shorten them by. Then I mark up so many inches from the bottom, fold, tack and try on again. If level I then hem. As I say you may have a better way, if so please share it with me and accept my apologies.0 -
Islandmaid me too...I am aiming to persuade DH that we should replace my currently 8 yo, 60k-miles small red Italian car before he can buy his now-new works car in 4 years time, mainly because I dont want his 100k-miles cast-off German diesel for pootling around town!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Mrs LW when we bought this house we were warned of the high flood risk - which is two surface water drains about 1/4 mile either side of our road that regularly get overwhelmed. We pointed out that they were both at the bottom of the higher ground on which we live and so far the water hasn't run uphill2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm in a high flood risk post code, but the detailed data shows that although the houses immediately around me are at risk, my house isn't - because it is built on the highest point on the plot, on a floating raft 18" above ground level - and I have two streams in my garden. From an insurance perspective you have to find insurers who look at detailed information not just postcodes.0

Is it possible for you to have a snooze this afternoon?I think a lot of it is to do with stress; I'm just so worried about Mr LW.
It wouldn't be so bad if there was something I could actively do to aid the situation, but I have to "sit on my hands" and wait for the slowly-turning cogs of the NHS to get into place.
Onwards and upwards.
We had an interesting walk with Honey this morning; she goes ballistic if she sees another dog, and we spotted someone with two little dogs on the Redway ahead of us, heading for the alleyway. So I hopped off the mobility buggy - I take one of my folding sticks in the front basket, so this was easily done - and used my full-length skirt (thank goodness this is what I always wear!!) to block her view, and just made a fuss of her til Mr LW told me they were out of sight. Result - one happy Shih Tzu, who had no idea the other dogs even existed! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
