Hi fencers...............What fantastic news FPK......all those positive thoughts really paid off.
Great to hear that Mr Nargle is feeling better with that medication too....long may it continue getting better and better.
Hoorah for Polly's daughter, may all her dreams come true.
Fuddle, you are the much better person for holding your head high and reacting as you did. You go girl!!!
Monna, I am pleased your dental appointment went well and you take as long as you like to recharge your batteries, you deserve it.
I have been to meditation and coffee with friends today and just about to go out for a meal with other girlie friends.
Love to all........and I hope your vertigo calms down enough for you to enjoy your break Ivyleaf. (I know you will be there by now, but you may catch up at some point)0 -

We need to move our boat tomorrow as we have had our two weeks here, next week we will be moving from one 48 hour mooring to another as we make our way to the dry dock to get our bottom blacked.
Are you going to beat it with your Womans Weekly?:rotfl:Everything will be alright in the end - and if it's not alright, it's not the end ........0 -

Oh well done Cocketts, I was pondering a suitable comment on Hester's black bottom but never thought of that one. Love it.
The difference a lazy day and a good nights sleep makes. I feel almost human this morning. I'm just trying to prioritise my to-do list. So far a wander up the beach and from thence to the shop for my weekly newspaper, followed by coffee and a good reading session heads the list.
I seem to have lost the thread of what you are all up to and at some point I must read back and catch up.
nursemaggie, if you had been a teacher and had to make sense of children's stories you would have no problem with dockyspeak.
One of my favourites was from a 5 year-old who was drawing a Christmas card. I stopped to admire it and said that I loved his reindeer, they looked as though they were jogging. Later that day a card was pushed under my study door. The words inside were, "Dere misses clack. Hear is yor jogin ranedere."
Dockyspeak is all too familiar to me.
The man next door has workmen in. Millie is certain that they are knocking their way through the wall in order to inflict nameless horrors on us.
She is not having it. No siree. She has taken up her position and is yelling her head off. I must go and calm things down.

Sounds like a perfect day to me. Enjoy.

Well done Polly, getting the help and support for your daughter. An OU degree will be a lovely achievement and something to be proud of. A friend of mind did her second degree with the OU and said that as well as the subject tuition, they also taught her how to study; useful skills she hadn't learned anywhere else.
Hugs and healing vibes to all who need them.

I also understand Dockyspeak perfectly, and I have never dealt with children at any time.
Polly's DD has my total respect aiming for an OU degree. I gave it some passing thought some years ago, but didn't have the confidence to actually do it.
Is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ9qapVmWi4 what Hester's up to, by the way?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

This made me chuckle, especially today. On Friday our line dancing teacher was bemused by our lacklustre efforts at a new dance (at one stage quite a few of us ended up facing each other in fits of giggles, which is not quite as intended). He suggested closing our eyes, so that we could dance like no-one was watching... because that's what he intended to do if we continued to do it so badly :rotfl:
Have a lovely lazy day Monna, hope you get some lovely weather.
We had a big day out today. Shopping day in the city and a comedy show with our favourite comedians. I feel very spoilt. We went to get some curtains that we'd seen online, they were pricey but great quality so we'd waited and budgeted for them. As it turned out, when we saw them in person we weren't so keen.... but we did find some at 1/3 of the original price that we did like (only downside is I need to make alterations). Heavy lovely velvet too, at a real steal.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
monna I ought to be able to read it I have two dyslexic sons.
The eldest came to see me and I was out. He was all of 16, he left a note "deer mom av bin an gone, I did the lorn."
I did not need to read that, not only could I see the grass had been cut, the neighbours were complaining about the rock music from next door to me, there was doughnut missing and a can of coke.
He had taken the radio with him while mowing the lawn and turned it right up so he could hear above the lawn mower. He used to spell everything the most obscure way. I suppose he still does. if there was C sound in the word he would always use a Q. Odd that really as very few adults seem to know a Q on its own says C.
The funny thing is his Welsh was perfect I could read that.
I went to see DS yesterday. Oh what a mess. He has not finished unpacking. He has this enormous TV right in front of the window shutting out all the light, there are boxes everywhere half unpacked. He must have dusted something as there was a duster on the coffee table. His dining table and chairs have not been unpacked yet.
His study was not so bad, his books were neatly arranged in sets. The Japanese tend to write series of novels not single books. Then I looked at his desk and there were 20 or 30 empty bottles and cans. I stopped looking then.
When I went for the bus there were 5 people waiting. A lot for our bus stop, the one before is the busy one. I waited and waited. When the bus came there were about 20 of us got on so it must have been a very long time since the last bus. After leaving DS's place I went to Ald! less than an hour later I came back. and turned off for the bus station. I should have carried on past DS's place and walked home through the park.
According to the display I had just missed one bus. The other bus I can take had already stopped running. It came to the next bus time and the following bus's due time came up and the other disappeared. I waited over an hour. I could have walked home three times. It was a different bus that runs in the evening. There was a bus full of passenger but most people wanted the missing ones that are a different route. They were all in for a long walk. All our buses go out to other towns there are not any just going to suburbs.
Polly I think it's a brilliant idea for your DD to do a degree. Good luck to her. It will do a lot for her confidence.0
