It's tipping down here - no worries about noisy neighbors today...

Their grandchildren stay for about 2 hours, top volume the whole time, but that's kids isn't it, not overly worried about it, I am just turning into a grumpy old woman :D - at least it's not like NM's neighbors.

We spent a pleasant evening in the garden, sipping wine and eating BBQ putting the world to rights

I intend to clean our kitchen units today, they are high gloss, so never look properly polished, always a 'smear' from one angle or another - same with our glass splashbacks, but 50/50 vinegar and water helps with those.

Bit disappointed with Car Share last night, the best bits are definitely the funny little signs, shop names etc they drive past :T

Hope some of you are enjoying sunshine, and none of you were effected by those awful flash floods x

Hester - just popping in to suggest lining your cupboards with an offcut of the cushioned flooring vinolay? It's hard wearing, washable and doesn't tend to slide about.

it was all good fun when my own children were younger, at least I knew where they were!

My thoughts too. I know where they are and what they're doing and as long as Asd@ own brand biscuits are cheap I'm happy to keep supplying them.

FPK I moved house to get away from neighbours who mostly shouted at each other and frequently used language that horrified me and I'm no saint. Given the way they were with each other it was a mystery to me why they actually lived together. The house move turned out to be for the best though as the HT has ended up at a fabulous secondary school.

I've been to fat class this morning and then nipped into Asd@ for some more of the aforementioned cheap biscuits. Given that I managed over 12 000 steps yesterday without leaving the house I think I'm entitled to some sitting down time today. I slept very badly last night for some reason (about three hours total) so a nana nap may also be on the cards at some point.

Cranky - my obnoxious, loud, foul mouthed neighbours moved a couple of years ago - the whole area breathed a sigh of relief! I've always said if children can't play and make a noise in their own garden where can they do it - I know it can get a bit rambunctious (love that word) at times but I prefer the sound of kids laughing and playing to the tirades we used to get.

I had a !!!!!! of a moment at work today I wanted to share with you all. As you may know, I work in a medical imaging department at a hospital. Recently I purchased 8 second hand gossip mags to pop in the waiting room for patients to read, recent ones and out of my own pocket. People had been enjoying them, I was happy it helped (the company won't pay for that kind of thing). Anyway, I went into the waiting room where a couple of patients were waiting, to fill my glass at the water fountain. And I noticed the lady there had put our magazines (including a label saying they were ours and asking for them not to be taken) into her handbag. I was a bit astonished and didn't quite believe what I'd seen, until she hastily closed her handbag up to hide them at which time I was 100% sure what I'd seen. Especially since the table the magazines were on, were now devoid of all but one home decoration magazine. She'd put all 8 in her handbag. And this from a woman who looked fairly well off. Bloody fuming  I couldn't actually say anything without causing issues for myself or the company. I told my boss too and she agreed there was nothing we could have done. Anyhoo, just wanted to share my rant. Sick and tired of dishonest unpleasant people.

Oh that's awful softsuff! I would have said "Why do you want those if you can't read?" I am sure that would have shamed her.

I have been shaving off the bobbles from some of my trousers. Now I cant get it opened to tip out the bobbles. DS is not coming next week as that is the week when he only has one day off. I think I will have to go to him and get him to open it.

Softstuff I think I would have said, in rather a loud voice, where on earth have all those magazines gone? They were here x amount of minutes ago and there have been no patients in....

Softstuff, that made my blood boil. You are right, stealing things that are not essentials, especially if the thief could afford them anyway, makes it so bad. It is so selfish and unnecessary

Right, 2 loads of washing drying, picnic for journey made, left over food processed for freezing, car cleaned inside, packing complete. Need to clean cooker top, vac floors, invoice client, make lunch for DH (he's working till 2pm), and most importantly, pack the car!

I am missing out on the sunny weather today and tomorrow is a 6 hour car journey:(
    Only a minor niggle.
In the real world, I hope FPK gets more positive news x
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
