Hester, I just line cupboards that are likely to get messy with oil cloth type stuff. Pull it out wipe it down then put it back. My kind of cleaning

Defo trying the bleach bicarbonate trick on our bathroom tiles. Who on earth puts 1.5" mosaic tiles round a shower?
We had one of those lawns that if you'd killed the moss it wouldn't be green anymore.
Finished another sewing project. Technically I have only half a project to finish. Then my daughters brought clothing alterations. Cheers girls.
The lupins are now in the garden with the Wilko's slug be gone around them. Hopefully it will work. When I took one out if it's copper tape protected pot, I found 2 snails on the wrong side of the tape. The plant was still in tact, so maybe the copper tape just puts them off food? Maybe I should try it. It could become a new diet craze :rotfl:.
Hugs to all who need them.

Also works on shower heads and hoses, plastic soap holders and that pink stuff you get on mastic...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Oh a BMX track or a paddling pool! Fab fun.
I vividly recall my mum getting very cross everytime I played out and got mucky. In all innocence I eventually queried why it was such a problem when we had a washing machine. I got a clip round the ear :rotfl:
Thinking of FPK and Karcher.
NM, sounds like you and your DS had a lovely catch up!I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Panda, I never found that copper tape worked. I did read that WD40 sprayed on the out sides of the posts stopped the little beggars climbing in. Personally I advocate GreyQueen's method. She goes for the slimy ones with the cold steel. (they dont like it up'em.)
I also encourage moss. You don't have to mow moss.
Meanwhile I'm off to sew my lips together with copper tape.I believe that friends are quiet angels

*whispers* I really like windows 10
I have a law half comprised of clover and half moss. Frankly though I'm loathe to do anything about it since it looks greener than the grass, is softer and requires less mowing :rotfl:
I'm on a go slow this morning. Late start and work and large brekkie.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Moss is the enemy! I have a large monabloc drive that doesn't get any sun in the winter (not that we have much sun anywhere in the winter!) and have just spent a couple of weeks removing the moss.
Glad you and your DS had a good catch up nursemaggie.
You're a good mum Cranky, I think all those children would drive me mad now although it was all good fun when my own children were younger, at least I knew where they were!0 -
Morning all,
Thanks for all of the thoughts. It does help. It just helps to vent a little. More tests have been run and more are scheduled for today so mum was hoping to get at least some kind of results this morning, but we didn't get anything yesterday. She said he seemed much more like himself and mum seems to feel this is a good sign, but I'm not entirely convinced. I think they've treated his symptoms which is making him feel better but I'm not sure they're going to be able to treat the cause. Fingers crossed mum is right.
Those of you with boisterous neighbours have my commiseration. We have one set whose children are all grown or approaching grown, but they like their loud thumping music whenever it is a hot day. To compound matters, so do mum and dad and dad sometimes decides to sing along once he has had a few. Even when they haven't yet got the sound system going they seem to communicate entirely by shouting and seem to regularly ignore each other so that everyone around them is forced to listen to everything multiple times. OH and I are not shouters, so it probably jars us more than most. One evening I was in the bath with the window above cracked. They had all their windows open and were in and out and shouting. I was tempted to answer back but refrained.
Well, today is a writing day. I'll go and get my coffee and breakfast, do a turn of the garden with Maggie the Cat and then get down to it. I may go for a jog this morning or wait and have a walk this afternoon. I might even do both. OH is off this week, so I shall probably be offered tea at hourly intervals. It sounds nice except he has a knack for coming in just as I'm getting settled into concentrating
Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
I like windows 10 too0

I know, I know. I don't take change lightly and I just loved my Windows7. I did so much on it. All you techy-savvy clever clogs are to be much admired. I'll just go back to my patch of mud and stick in it.
FairyP I do hope that your mother gets some real news soon. Perhaps the tests done today will help. It's all such a worry for you all. Uncertainty is very draining.
As to noisy neighbours, not nice. I can understand that with children and youngsters there is going to be noise at certain times and for certain periods of time. What must be so hard is to have it all the time and from the adults as well.
When we were the noisy neighbours I was insistent that the outside noise stopped by 6 o'clock at night and constantly apologised to my neighbours on each side. They were very understanding and appreciative of the fact that the noise was only during the day and only of children having fun.
I think it was a shade cooler last night. We are just now in the middle of a shower that should cool things down a bit more. No particular plans for today. Perhaps a bit more sorting out and I have a lot of letters to write.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Don't compare your life with others and don't judge them. You have no idea what their journey is all about.I believe that friends are quiet angels
