Just youtubed and the recommendation for lobster clasps for bracelets is a hair band or rubber band over wrist then fiddle around with fastenings. Looks quite easy, will look out bracelets sometime! Wonder what would work for necklaces? Hmmm....

NM, other problems living alone can be putting on bracelets that need doing up, also necklaces if your eyesight isn't perfect or you're a bit cack handed, like me. My best friend bought me a lovely necklace thingy for Oops nearly said (Christmas) but my heart sank when I saw how tiny the fasteners were to do it up. Hence I haven't worn it, not only can I not put it on I can't get the damn thing off! Well I did but aargh really not worth the aggro...

Helebore, like Pollyanna says, I've seen in one of those catalogues that come in magazines, a little doodad that attaches to bracelets or necklaces like that and it turns them into a magnetic clasp. Ah... like this here:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/i/142640557978?chn=ps
Of course, someone would have to put it on first, but after that you'd be home and away.

In clothing talk, I usually wear mens pants and jeans, womens don't often come long enough. If I buy a pair of womens pants, they tend to look capri style, which is fine for some, but not for others. And besides, for some reasons mens pants fit me better. I celebrated yesterday getting into hubbys pants (no Hester, not like that.... ), opens up a few more clothing options!

Nursemaggie, I remember Oasis in Preston when I was a student many moons back. It was quite expensive, but upstairs they had a seconds or repairs rack which I raided a few times. For a bit of sewing you got about 90-95% off :rotfl:

Mardatha, a conversation with hubby about your laptop says he needs more info: does it crash or freeze whilst it's flashing pink? does it do it for a while then stop? Is it definitely pink and not red? (if it was red he thinks an internal cabling issue, like FPK says, maybe just loose), have you updated the graphics card drivers? (this should be done in any case to see if it resolves). Always a shame with this we can't pop round, he's the brains, I'm the internal soldering brawn :rotfl:

Sorry about your dad FPK, I hope you have some news and it's good soon, sending hugs.

MMF007, you'd have to dig to see lawn grubs (or soak so thoroughly they'd be underwater and then they come up). Tell your DH I'd let him loose on my lawn anytime, he's a caring a decent neighbour with nothing to be ashamed of. Lawn is a fickle beast.

I'm not sure if my fibro fog would manage that but I'll be interested to hear how you manage . My little pendant is on a very fine chain so I'm going to talk to the old fashioned jeweller in the town first to see if he can help modify with magnetic fastenings or sells a more suitable chain .
Well last night on these knock out painkillers so will head for bed and hope to wake to a sort of usable shoulder .
    Sleep well Helebore .

Glad you mentioned Car Share, polly - I hadn't realised the previous "last episode" is going to be on again before the "last episode" and would have missed seeing it again :)

Pollyanna, bless. How I manage, I don't really, I get to the point where I cannot be bothered but I really should make more of an effort. I will try. I will look out jewellery, had a quick look earlier.
Softstuff, that is the problem, having someone to put the clasps on in the first place, and quite frankly, not that I'm vain or anything, but most of the magnetic ones look unfortunately, quite monsterous in comparison, just don't look like they match the rest of jewellery!
Ah first world problems, in the fullness of everything it really doesn't matter, more important things to be worrying about on here, people's relatives being ill etc etc!
Love to everyone, hope we can all get some sleep!

Hellebore don't worry about dealing with the smaller stuff on here. Y'see if we couldn't help with the smaller stuff, have a laugh or air our little ditties of life, then we would be a continuous vacuum of woe.

FPK I'm saddened to read of Illhealth and worry within your family, and within yourself. I wish for the knowledge to be gathered quickly so you can understand, deal and ultimately, cope. If it helps to release you know where you can. ;)

Emptynester, thank you and you have have Co Durham through your veins :D

Monna I am sure there has been many a time DH has want to throttle me! I can tell you I was handed a cup of tea yesterday eve with the words 'for my darling wife (sarcasm, he doesn't have a do soppiness) the clumsy oaf' :D:rotfl:

Oh Polly, I'd love to help you out! Do you live within striking distance of Cheshire??

Today I have 3 hours of cleaning along with sorting out some storage problems (a very untidy couple of cupboards that are hindering my client!), an hour of furniture moving and anti-moth spraying, an hour of visiting a client in a care home and finally the rest of the re-seeding at the garden of doom. I anticipate that I shall be pretty tired when I get home. Bank Holiday?? Pah!

Those of you who can, enjoy today! Fuddle, keep off that ankle x

All my work is to be squashed in today so we can travel to the far north of Scotland tomorrow.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

FPK - sorry to hear your news. Do hope you get some positive information soon - hugs.
Fuds - hope the ankle is better today. You are not alone - my DH swears I can trip over a matchstick! I once fell backwards on an uphill travellator in Charles dear Gaulle airport - couldn't get any purchase to haul myself up so I was dumped ignominiously in a heap at the end showing my knickers to all and sundry! Only embarrassment no damage but it gave my work colleagues a good laugh.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes yesterday. I spent a lovely day with family and friends and like Softstuff got slightly squiffy! My friends lemon drizzle traybake was delish - she was pleased too as it was her first attempt. Went to bed last night feeling very blessed.
