Happy birthday silvasava!! May the day be treating you kindly and you have laughed muchly
nm oasis was my high street store of choice before the big crash. They did some lovely things, and they pretty well cut for High Street but yeah, they were on the higher side of pricing. Generally can be found in department stores so that gives you a ball park figure.
The weather is gorgeous in the south west of Scotland. Mar I hope you're having some too and I hope you're having a no longer seeing pink!
I've been to a botanical garden and a bizarre fish pond within a rock face. Pretty cool actually. Time on the beach with ice creams and now back chez caravan and nursing an ankle of which I have gone over on. Can't take me anywhere!0 -
NM, other problems living alone can be putting on bracelets that need doing up, also necklaces if your eyesight isn't perfect or you're a bit cack handed, like me. My best friend bought me a lovely necklace thingy for Oops nearly said (Christmas) but my heart sank when I saw how tiny the fasteners were to do it up. Hence I haven't worn it, not only can I not put it on I can't get the damn thing off! Well I did but aargh really not worth the aggro...
I may have been to that garden fuds when eldest dd was living up on the west coast . I suppose I'll have to think where I put the emergency bubble wrap I put in reserve when Lyn was taking a tumble and send you some to wrap yourself in .
Happy birthday dear Silva for some reason the icons aren't playing .
I was going to give you flowers but not even a birthday cake is working and my print has gone weird .
It's quite nice but not for everyday .
I've now forgotten pretty well everything i meant to say ! Someone needs to beam me up . Where's David Tennant and his Tardis when I need him ?
If you don't already know Fuds and Floss , Final Car Share episode is tomorrow BBC1 9pm is last episode of the previous series - the one that left us all fuming - 9.30 pm is the new last one .
However Peter is saying never say never on a future one .
I need to go and sort out the laptop which appears to be either overheating or taken over by some random thing . Loki Wolfy ?
Oh Lyn I 'm pleased all is going well for the move . Mar is that the laptop you were having problems with a while ago ? It's not HP is it there have been a lot of problems over the last few years with some of their's .
Very belated positive thoughts to Nargle and her husband for a good outcome MMF I'm sorry about the lawn incident . It's such a shame when you and your husband are such kind and helpful people .
If you ever get a spare hour is there a chance you could clone yourself ? I'm under orders to not hang out washing , use the hoover etc until this shoulder is settled so could do with an MMF clone at the moment .
Glad you finally got through the appeal KW it's been a long time waiting .
I'm going to turn off now as laptop is very hot . I'm hoping we get the forecast deluge tonight .
Monna I'm not quite up to your level of clothes but not far behind .
Will reset things once the laptop is cooled .

Sometimes it behaves fine and then it will start flashing pink again. I think its a graphic card fault. This is a gaming laptop and should have lasted longer than this0

Evening all,
Mar, it could just be that the graphic card connection is loose. A pain since it means someone has to open it up, but not too dear to fix. If it is a failing graphics card you have my sympathy, that happened to my last laptop
Silva, happy birthday. I hope it was a lovely day.
Monna, I have no advice. My only key strategies are to envisage how much I will enjoy being able to see and access the clothes I keep and to be ruthless. I'm not good at either.
Today was a long and emotional day starting with news from Mum that Dad had some worrying symptoms but was refusing to go to hospital. Given his stroke a couple of years ago we thought he was having more. He did agree to go today, but I didn't know that while we were visiting OH's Mum and Dad. FIL was quite down about his cancer. When we got home I found out dad had been admitted to ICU. They seem to have ruled out new strokes but there are some serious problems with his bloods and they don't know why. I've spoken to mum now but we won't know more until at least tomorrow. They doctor has said he could take a turn for the worse at anytime, but we don't really know what that means yet. I think it will all feel a bit easier when we know what we're working with, but for now he is in the best place he can be and being well looked after. Hopefully mum will be able to get a good night's sleep in spite of the worry as she generally doesn't sleep enough due to caring for dad. She has a holiday tomorrow as well so won't need to deal with work for at least a day.
Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
I am now rather worn out and aching but I have had a lovely couple of days with DGS and DD who talks even more than I do lol. No show on the sewing machine so far but I am now too tired to use it so I'll not fret about it at the moment.
Happy Birthday Silvasava, hope you've had a good day.
Nurse Maggie I'll get the flapjack going but can it wait till mid week. My spoons are all gone currently. Hopefully you can enjoy your fruitcake whilst you wait.
Mardatha you're very welcome to 2 of everything but I am cream crackered. Can you wait a bit pretty please?
Fuddle I hope your ankle is ok and works normally soon. My Mam a lovely Co Durham girl also told me I looked like The Wreck of the Hesperus but it was always said with fondness, I doubt she knew the verse. I always felt it was a well used local phrase.
Lame Wolf if you could spare a morsel of your carrot and orange cake it could be very restorative after the last couple of days.
After this keep me away from cakes. I move more slowly and over shorter distances these days. I have already gained girth due to loss of height and I must not gain pounds. I do like cake tho'.
Sorry for those I missed. I hope to improve with practise. Meantime night, night from a tired but happy Empty.

FairyprincessK hope you get some answers soon. Best wishes for your parents and parents-in-law x0 -

Hope you've had a happy birthday silva, sorry my greeting is a little late.
Sorry to hear of your Dad's illness FPK, hope he can get treatment soon.
I've been away for a very relaxing weekend in the Highlands. Beautiful weather, great company and some stunning scenery. I stayed with some very good friends who have a fab little springer spaniel that enjoys walks more than life itself. I've walked a total of 21 miles since Friday morning!
Long drive home today, thank goodness for air conditioning in the car, it was 26.5 degrees at Aviemore - hard to believe it was cut off with the snow a couple of months ago.
Good night all.0 -
Many hugs to you , your husband and both sets of parents FPK . If I remember correctly your parents are still in the USA . That must make things much more difficult . As you said both dads are in the best possible place to be monitored and kept an eye on . The cnadle is already lit here and I'll be sending love , light and lavender to your family and any here who need them .
Wishing Mum some sleep but that's a difficult one for carers .

Oh FPK, sorry to hear the worrying news. I shall be thinking of you and hoping for better news.
Polly, (and everyone who offered advice on the lawn problem), the grass is growing in the bare patches! I have already put new seed down and compost and watered a few times. I did look for grubs but saw none, although there were some burrowing bees! I think, if my neighbour can bear it, we should have a decent recovery within 3 to 4 weeks. I have offered to returf but she said no. I think she was so cross that she would have said no to anything so I held that as an option but it may not be necessary.
DH says the only thing he can think of is that the fertiliser he spread was too strong and as there was no rain at all it simply scorched the grass. He is still miserable about it, feels so guilty and embarassed.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Pollyanna thank you about the magnetic clasps, I will have a look for some.
