  • Jeans all the time for me, different colours but jeans just the same, the only time I come out of them into a pair of black trousers is when I go to one of Nell's concerts and feel the need to look almost (not quite though) respectable! T shirts, light shirts/blouses in the summer and T shirts and warm jumpers in the cool weather.

I saw rhubarb in the market yesterday, perhaps I should have bought it all of it and had some for everyone today.

I keep meaning to say last Wednesday night I saw my first Christmas advert for Christmas trees. I always thought if I ever see a Christmas ad in July. I will know the world has gone mad, but May that's ridiculous.

It's amazing how little food shopping you need once you are only one. I finished quickly in the market and had a wonder round the charity shops. I say a navy blue dress on a yoke with lovely flowers and foliage embroidered on the Yoke. I tried it on and amazingly it fitted. It had buttons down the back and I could not reach them so I had to put it back.

I found one big disadvantage of living alone. Now that was a going to church dress or I could even have got away with going to a wedding in it. Definitely a dress to impress someone new. Is Oasis an expensive brand?

I had better go and move a few things so DS has room to move that chest of draws. I'm starting to tire of cleaning out cupboards and draws. I have finished the kitchen until the central heating goes in.

*Scratches head* I thought Oasis was a band; I haven't heard of it as a clothing brand. But then, I know zilch about clothing labels etc.

MrsLW just proves, it's "horses for courses"; I only have to look at a pair of jeans to get a bout of cystitis. :(

NM oh what?? Xmas ads in May?? Are you sure it's not one they forgot to take down from last year? :D

And I do sympathise re the dress with buttons at the back; I'd be well and truly up sh*t creek with no paddle if I didn't have Mr LW here to help me dress.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Christmas just got a mention too on Radio 2. Some film coming out on Christmas Day, like I care. (I appreciate I am not the only listener!)

NM, other problems living alone can be putting on bracelets that need doing up, also necklaces if your eyesight isn't perfect or you're a bit cack handed, like me. My best friend bought me a lovely necklace thingy for Oops nearly said (Christmas) but my heart sank when I saw how tiny the fasteners were to do it up. Hence I haven't worn it, not only can I not put it on I can't get the damn thing off! Well I did but aargh really not worth the aggro...

nursemaggie What a shame about the dress. I wonder if the buttons down the back were the reason it ended up in the charity shop? I've never bought anything there (they don't go up to my size) but their website shows most of their dresses as being upwards of £70, though some are cheaper.

ETA As regards clothes, I mostly wear trousers from M & S which I think are classed as jogging trousers but don't have cuffs at the bottom; they are pull-on and have no elastic, just a drawstring which I leave undone on days my tummy's particularly uncomfortable. In summer I often wear linen trousers - I have 2 very comfy pairs, again from M & S, which I've had for 3 years and they've stopped making that particular style, aaagh, and several pairs from East which I had to take up as their trousers are always too long for me.
I do have a very nice long linen skirt, but haven't worn that yet this year.
Tops are usually tee shirt-type, or jumpers in colder weather, and I also have 2 linen shirts. Plus a couple of smart tops for church and for other occasions requiring a smart top!

    Happy birthday, Silva! Enjoy!!

Well we have had a very relaxing day, lazing around, but blimey it has been windy. The sun is sizzling and it was 24°C at 11am but I have retreated inside now cos it is blowing a gale.

I shall attempt to gather together a wild selection of clothes for packing tomorrow. We have a lot of eventualities to cover but I don't want to over pack. As usual it is the variety of footwear needed that will take up most room. Plus we are taking a very large footstool for my mum, a load of pressies for family, and i'd like to take some art stuff.

'Sea glimpses' made me think of the Faulty Towers episode where the deaf lady complained about having a boring view. Basil asked what she expected to see from a window in Torquay? Sydney opera house? Herds of wildebeest?
We often refer to this when we hear unreasonable complaints.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
  • I saw rhubarb as one of Aldi's super 6 for 50p? something like that a bunch yesterday when I went into town for supplies!
