Lots of going with the flow in my previous post - I think that sums up our mantra for the moment.

NARGLEBLAST, it's all we can, go with the flow, isn't it? You are right to think about what food to aim for and right to accept that may be your DH won't want always eat it.
The scan does need to be before the consultation! Macmillan should be able to tackle that but you could try ringing the Consultant's secretary to see if they will intervene?

We are all here to offer support but don't scare your DH by telling him about us! :rotfl:

Fab, hot, sunny day here. Got 3 loads of washing done and dry (2 were other people's!). It feels like it may thunder soon though :(
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Nargle, some of the Cancer charities have discussion boards, a bit like MSE. I know you said you didn't want to google for medical information but I think there is some helpful information on there from other posters about food and diet. More directly relevant perhaps than our more limited experience
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

MMF did you get thunder? We had a bit so loud it literally shook the house but at the same time it seemed like a long way off. Only one lightning flash quite a while before the clap of thunder and no rain. The sky is clearing now so looks like we missed it

Some good suggestions for Nargleblast, when my OH was undergoing chemo he just ate what he fancied when he fancied it. He did suffer from mouth ulcers at one point which made eating anything apart from yoghurt quite difficult.

I would suggest that you both take some time out during his treatment, as and when Mr Nargle is up to it, just a small thing - cinema, meal out, trip to a stately home, etc - just so you both have a break from worrying and the general stresses of life. I wish you both well.

Quite a nice day here after the drizzle this morning, I'm glad I put the washing out as it was bone dry when I got home from work. The sky has gone really black but no rain yet.

DD phoned me as I was leaving work - her and her BF have just had an offer accepted on a house. They both have flats and live in his but this is the first proper house they will have together. I am really excited for them, two lovely hard working people deserve somewhere special.

It looked like there had been quite a pour down while I was having my scan this afternoon. Why did the BBC last night say the timetable changes were only in the south. It was chaos on the railways again so not been back long. I have to go to the Christie again on Thursday and the RMT have announced they are on strike again on Thursday so three hours each way on the bus again.

You can build him up a bit before he starts the Chemo. Don't expect him to eat more than a sparrow once the sickness kicks in. If he is lucky he may have a chemo that does not make you so ill. You may even get a reply like my dad gave my ex.

He asked dad if he would like a cup of coffee and he replied. He said "no thanks I have gone off coffee, I think I must be pregnant." DS was about 10 days old.

Tread one path and don't venture off into the many byways that look attractive because most times they aren't any use at all.

That's good advice for life too, Mrs L.

Wish I'd learned it when I was much, much younger. Maybe we only learn it the hard way?

Nope, no thunder. The humidity lifted about 7pm and we had a lovely evening.

Yep, Charis and MrsLW are right. Good advice for life!

I am wide awake at this silly hour because DH is snoring fit to bust
Huh! It's our wedding anniversary today. Did I sign up for snoring as part of the deal??

He is working long hours tomorrow (hence me not waking him to stop the snoring!), and I have a few jobs to do, including collecting some equipment he's had repaired, so we have decided to stay in for our anniversary meal. I had anticipated this and bought crispy duck but we, er, ate it on sunday! So I'll think of something else yummy for dinner.

    Good morning everyone :)

    Happy Anniversary MMF!

nursemaggie What a PITA to have to go to hospital so often. I was talking to a lady at my church who has mouth cancer and she is so fed up, she says she feels she has no life any more because she seems to spend all her time at the hospital.

Thanks Ivyleaf. He is a keeper, I am very lucky.

Have breakfasted and admired the lovely sunny garden, now need to write a mini shopping list, wash up and scoot! Darling DH has asked me to do another little job after I collect the equipment. Won't take too long but I want to get back to prep dinner (planning HM chicken tikka and all the Indian-style trimmings).
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
