Oh wasn't it lovely to be outside in the sun, hearing the bird song?

I read and relaxed for a few hours.

I did start DH's tax return but couldn't find some of his records.... he was late home but did produce the file (no idea why he had moved it!) so I can finish it today. We have the money put aside to pay NI but his net income seems to be below the tax threshold because last year he had more 'down time' due to the bad weather in Dec, Feb and March. Ouch. Not complaning about his lack of work in January 'cos that was self-inflicted (holiday!). Thankfully we did put a small reserve aside when he began his business because income does flucuate, so I am not concerned.

Glad to read more good news from Camelot and Mary!!!
Softstuff, you've done brilliantly with the weight loss and fitness campaign! My campaign had stalled again. Needed to give myself another stern talking to! Being determined again and in fact turned down a scone yesterday. That took real will power, I can tell you!

Today is going to be sunny, too!!
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

MaryB - so pleased that DH is improving and will be home soon.
Nargle - thinking of you and DH X

Lazy day yesterday - pottered in the garden and read a book. Supposed to be taking my boat out for a few hours today but DS1 is talking of a BBQ so probably won't happen unless I can persuade someone else to come and crew with me. Such naff weather last year I didn't get a lot of opportunity and I need so much more experience I want to grab every opportunity i can.
Bye the way - I'm on a sailing forum and there seem to be an awful lot of naked or near naked sailors! Just not in this hemisphere lol. It won't be happenings in on my boat either as I'm in Monna's camp, mind you it might scare the fish out of the water ;)

Camelot - pleased to hear you and DS are in contact again - been there and know how hard it is x
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Glad to hear MrM is feeling better and good to hear your news too Camelot.

I was up early this morning and went to the gym because it's closed tomorrow (council gym) which is my usual day. I drove home craving an apple....I'm starting to worry that I've been taken over by aliens or something :D

Excellent news maryb; and I'm certain he'll feel like a new man after he's had a shave and shower.

I am appalled to read that none of you lily-livered lot took advantage of the opportunity today offered, to get a tan with no tidemarks. It might have been rust in your case Camelot but you could have made the effort.
Not just lily-livered, lily-legged as well, I fear. Thanks, but I'll keep my Skyclad rituals strictly indoors. ;) As a lupie, of course, the sun is not my friend - cue much scrabbling in the already-packed holiday stuff for the sun lotion. :D

I am trying hard to picture FairyP gardening away clad only in a pair of long sleeves, (how do you keep them up?) and a hat.

Lovely and sunny again, so I've done the washing I was planning for tomorrow (it might be raining by then!) Mr LW has been advised that anything he wants to take on hols is NOT to be worn, as I cannot guarantee another wash will be done before we go. ;)
Don't worry Monna, he has loads of clothes, we won't be treated to any Skyclad antics from him. :rotfl:

We went for a circular walk passing through a wood known for flowers, esp. bluebells. We got up early. The birds were singing, we spotted flowers, the sun was shining. We entered the wood just as it was getting quite hot. Everything was lovely, until we were chased by an aggressive pheasant! We ran all the way through the woods, it only stopped as we passed out of the wood and into a sheep field!

We're much restored after lunch at a nearby garden centre, but OH has announced that the next time he sees pheasant on the menu he's eating it with relish;)

Maryb & Nargle so pleased your husbands are doing so well. I hope the pain in Mr M's legs is improved today.

Such good news camelot I only wish my oldest son would get in touch. I wish for better news on this front too for mar.

Hope the fuddles are enjoying their weekend and the weather is as good as here.

DS is frantically packing, there are many, many boxes of books. His removal quote was done by text, He said he had over 200 books, actually I think it is nearer 400. The company texted back was that 200 boxes of books?

He's not taking his wardrobe as he has a huge built in one in his new flat. I think I will turn it into a store cupboard for tins and packets. The pans will be practically halved so I can have them down from the top of the cupboards. The rest of his room is going to be just a store cupboard and I will get all the stuff stored in my bedroom.

I won't move bedrooms as all the children in the flat above sleep in the bedroom above so it's gets the worst of the noise.

I have reviewed how they are treating my application for sheltered housing as an unnecessary move because I am adequately housed. The chances of me being rehoused is as remote as winning the lottery.

I got rid of all the old computer stuff by getting a man to take them away in a van. He was here 2 hours before the time he said and only charged me £20. There was no way with the council to get rid of it. Even the tip would not have taken it so they went to a private tip. They were no good for parts as everything was at least 8 years old and everything salvageable was already stripped out by DS. He builds his own computers.

Last week I took some stuff to a charity shop and brought back 5 dinner plates for only £2. They are hand painted Italian ones. That means I can give DS all the dinner plates and salad plates we have and I will have matching plates when DD and family visit.

Like FPK I also burn too easily, I don't tan at all if I don't burn my, skin stays the same deathly pale colour. I don't think I even make any vitamin D in response to the sun. I have been getting paler and paler over the last 5 years. I wonder if that's the reason I get so many people asking me if I'm alright when I'm in Manchester? I only found out a few weeks ago it's another side effect of my cancer treatment.

No way would I expose the great big scar I have down my middle from my op.

Just back from a lovely concert weekend with DD1, she said when she got home that evening I arrived that it had been since last May that we'd not had any 'just us' time, she wanted weekend with her Mum and that made me really happy. We had a cuppa with James on Friday evening and saw him and the boys on Saturday as we went to the concert rehearsal and had the rest of the time just like we used to, both of us are now at peace and happy with life, neither one of us had worked out the 'scratchiness' was due to something like that.

LAMEWOLF my sweetie, whatever your DNA is, whatever you feel regarding contact with humanity there is some magic in your veins too love, you have made more little canine beings happy with your love and care and sharing your home and life with them than most people achieve with humans in a whole lifetime. You don't need to like people pet, you're giving more than enough love to your furry 'babies' to make up for any lack you may perceive in yourself for humans, long may you make tails wag and sleeping doggies lie safe and comfortable xxx.

MARYB blessings upon your family and house xxx.

NARGLE may the gods be kind, the wind in the right direction and MR.NARGLE be speedily whole and well again xxx.

FUDDLEY ONE where do I begin??? you have grown yourself into a stalwart, confident and formidable woman capable of not only fighting your own corner but with the compassion and fortitude to defend the lives and rights of those you care about when the need arises, have I said before how proud of you I am? well here's a REPEAT....my word small one am I PROUD of you over this? OH YES,YES,YES.....hats off to you girlie, you're a good 'in through and through! Enjoy caravan break and get rid of that chest infection, this nice warmth should help you bake it out xxx.

I have sunbathed, but not naked, I've also locked through a few passing boats.
The sun was strong enough to run the washing machine and to dry the washing afterwards.
We are near an airfield so there are some small planes passing over and competing with the bird song.
    Chin up, Titus out.

FPk must be a daddy pheasant, feeling territorial. Never run from a bird - face them up, run right at them, wave arms and yell a lot. Supposed to work but I've only tried it on geese lol. It worked!
