DH still making good progress and they are now talking about maybe sending him home on Tuesday though he has to be able to manage stairs first. Amazing! He's quite uncomfortable though, poor lamb, and is dying for a shave and a shower. Shave tomorrow and shower Monday is the plan and then he'll feel much better Thank you all again for all your support and good wishes. It does buoy me upIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I am appalled to read that none of you lily-livered lot took advantage of the opportunity today offered, to get a tan with no tidemarks. It might have been rust in your case Camelot but you could have made the effort.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna,
One does not tan. One instead begins to look as if one has been dipped in a chip pan after only the briefest exposure to the sun. At the advanced age of 34, one has learned to avoid this particular form of nonsense and has embraced hats and long sleeves.
Lest you should worry, the hats do away with any possibility of this being more 'dignified.'
MaryB--I'm so thrilled he is progressing. I'm sure he can't wait for that first shower.
Nargleblast--big hugs. I hope the road to recovery is quick and smooth.0 -
great news MaryB :T He'll be running you ragged in no time!
Also good news that no-one seems to have taken up the nude gardening opportunity. Monna, you seemed encouraging but I hear no mention of your pasty bits getting an airing.:p
I can think of a couple of aussies I know who would... one deliberately to annoy his neighbours (he sits on his lounge naked for that reason - and just because frankly he doesn't care) and another who seems to do everything possible naked - as does his missus (including car maintenance), he's not someone you drop in on unexpectedly.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I am trying hard to picture FairyP gardening away clad only in a pair of long sleeves, (how do you keep them up?) and a hat.
I will have you know Softstuff, that my pasty bits are not only pasty but saggy and wrinkled as well and not for public consumption. Added to which, I quite like my neighbours and wouldnt like their stomachs to be turned.
I am trying to picture an Aussie nudist doing car maintenance. Where does he keep the oily rag?
DON'T ANSWER THAT.
Well, the sun is already shining with all his might and the temperature is set to soar. Where are my summer clothes? All stuffed into a bin bag in the Room of Doom waiting to be released and sorted. The first job when I get back from church I think.
Enjoy this sunny day whatever you are doing.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
When you forgive someone.
When you withold judgement.
When you are generous.
When you love and when you stand up to injustice,
you are, in that moment,
bringing heaven to earth.. (Rob Bell)I believe that friends are quiet angels

Mr Nargleblast best wishes for a speedy recoveryIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
I was so disappointed that the sun came out at around 6pm yesterday when I had finished at the allotment, the temperature would have been just right for some stripping off!
DS1 stayed here last night (he's the one that hasn't spoken to us for quite a few years). We've been in touch since just before Christmas and have met up a couple of times. He came over yesterday afternoon, we went for something to eat and drink and had a good chat, things are at last getting back to normal. I've still to meet the Grandchildren but there will be a battle with his ex over that one!0
