That reminds, me - Softstuff Are wellies called gumboots in Oz as they are in NZ?

That's a question I simply don't know the answer to Ivyleaf. Unlike NZ, it tends not to be cold enough here for them! A quick google around some gardening sites local to Aus (cos I couldn't think where else you'd use them) say wellies with gumboots in brackets. So I'd guess wellies first.

Stoozie1, it's the Lorna Jane brand, though I have to say, by now I've tried on about 40 of their range, 4 fit. The one I have for work is from the Lorna Jane active essentials range, the comfort sports bra. It's available in the uk here: https://lornajane.co.uk/collections/active-essentials-range/products/lb0132_w but for some reason is 1/3 dearer than buying it in Aus. I understand if you sign up to their newsletter you'd get 20% off, but still...

Floss, in case I forget, do do do do do dodo dododododo dooodoo :D

:rotfl: Witless. They bounce slightly, but my eyes don't blacken and my knees don't get bruised!

Nursemaggie, they are dear, but not as dear as that here. I paid 29 pounds for the last one and have bought other colours in their sale. Frankly though, when you're 34F/G with a small ribcage and high set boobs, finding a bra at all means the price can be a bit secondary (I've been to specialist fitters on a few occasions who actually have to concede defeat). About 10 years ago I got a specially fitted German sports bra that I had to travel to Brisbane for, it cost nearly 150 quid

I don't own many bras at a time, wash them like they're antique heirlooms and they last anything from 6-12 months (weighty boobs make em stretch!). Frankly though, given that I carry scarring from previous bras (the rubbing can be that bad) it's an area I can't skimp on. I chickened out of a breast reduction on the NHS (which had been agreed due to a few medical issues), and good bras keep me from seeking another.

Softstuff, I know how expensive those bras are. My DIL is a 34J! Every year for her birthday, I take her to bra fitter. I usually spend $300 on her.

Last year her sports bra was $229CDN. She said it was the best thing that had ever happened to her "girls".

She's still afraid of the breast reduction surgery.

Isn't it sad that once you deviate from normal and average things become eyewateringly expensive. Bras I can happily buy from m&s. Shoes are another matter entirely. Herring boxes without topses would suit me just fine.

I'm all set for an expedition to Ald*s today. I've chickened out of it so far this week. With a car the whole thing would take me about 45 minutes. By bus it takes 3 hours, but the travelling is free and what else do I have to do with my time. Happy though I am to support the village shop, sometimes I get a yearning for something different and somewhat cheaper.

I may call in later to see how everyone is doing.

Monnagran, I have a mental image of you with full mountain gear, walking poles and a rope over one shoulder ;) Enjoy your Aldi expedition.

I think any deviation from what is economical to produce is expensive. It still boggles my mind though that so few companies exploit those niche markets, though we of the big boobs or small footsies are fewer, we're not all *that* uncommon.

Wondercollie, I used to live with a couple of Dutch girls who'd had breast reductions and a wonderful job was done of it. Of course, they chose their surgeon and had great results. When I went for an NHS consultation and met my potential surgeon, I had doubts. He claimed all he would do would be to remove a set amount of weight from each breast and that was that, I found the approach and his bedside manner disconcerting. After all, you're stuck with the result for some time. I'm glad your DIL has some nice undies though, she's very lucky to have you.

Morning All - a break in the weather yesterday meant the scattering of the ashes went well. I bought some yellow roses and used their petals. A swan came along after (to see if it was food) but cousin has a lovely photo of the lone swan in the middle of yellow petals.
Return journey home we had an accident! The road must have been greasy, car took a wiggle and suddenly turned 180deg, veered across the dual carriageway into the central barrier facing the wrong way. Looks like car will be a write off - we are both fine, no bumps, bruises or whiplash and SO lucky that there were no trucks steaming along, could have been a very different scenario.
We're off to Lunnun town today - I hadn't booked train tickets (busy & forgot) looks like the train journey will cost more than the theatre tickets.
Had a quick skim through the posts - a ditty I remember (along with the ones many of you remember)
It was a dark and stormy night
The rain in fell in torrents
And Ulysses gathered his men about
and told a tale as follows:
It was a dark and stormy night............
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Softstuff. You forgot the shopping trolley.

ETA. Silvasava, that must have been terrifying. Thank goodness you are all OK. Some sort of miracle, that.
