I loooove Blaster Bates! My grandad had his records and I recall laughing until tears streamed down my face at the one where he blew up the cesspit when his neighbour had freshly painted the cottage.

And when he went to the yard and saw the cattle wagon was the same colour as the pub and thought, 'what a coincidence'.

My DH doesn't get it but it creases me up.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
  • Cloudy and chilly here, CHS and dgd are colouring in Peppa Pig. We've already played I spy and hide and seek!

Lovely sunny breezy chilly April day up here, too cold to actually go outside and do anything, but nice to watch through the windows :)

I had to translate it for my hubby, he couldn't understand his accent at all... and it sort of loses the humour then. I'm going to find it and listen again tomorrow. Good for the abs ;)

I have got rid of the alkanet from the front garden (not the back one, that's another story) - I was surprised how hard the soil was, as although I know there were some hot days here while we were away, I thought there had been some rain as well, but DS said not.
That being the case, OH is having a go at cutting the grass. It is really long because it hadn't been cut since about October :( I suppose what it really needs is for Ross Poldark to come along with his scythe.......:D
I expect that to begin with, OH will cut a path through the middle, so that I can at least use the washing line without having to don my wellies.

That reminds, me - Softstuff Are wellies called gumboots in Oz as they are in NZ?

My elderly neighbour started to sing when I visited his wife. He has Altzeimers and is pretty badly affected now but he sang 'Daisy Daisy', without missing a beat. It was me that couldn't remember that it won't be a stylish marriage!
    Oh now,how does it go......

Daisy, Daisy, the coppers are after you.
Daisy, Daisy, what are you going to do?
They'll tie up your hands with wire
    And call the Black Mariah.
    So ring your bell
    And pedal like hell
On a bicycle built for two.

    I'll get my coat.....

Dorothy taught us that all a girl really needs is a nice pair of shoes and a very loyal dog.
Hmm.... I'll forego the shoes, and I'll take any dog you care to send my way. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
