I get exactly what you mean about the interaction thing! Also, I abandoned green tea as it was giving me headaches. I thought the stuff I had was supposed to be caffeine free, but perhaps it wasn't. Im on normal decaf tea now. I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine; give me a fancy normal coffee and it's not pretty.
Glad you are OK Silva, it must have been scary.
Gardening has been happening here. The not so huge now buddlia is sprouting well and I even rescued a tiny seeding from the block paving. When the time comes for the big one to be taken out, I might have a decent one to put in its place.
Has anyone tried the Wilko's Eco slug stuff? I got some yesterday to try and protect some lupins that were cheap at the range. I've tried to grow them in several gardens, but the slugs seem to love them.
Back to garage Tetris between the showers for the rest of the week I think.
Any news on the flat NM?

No pandamonium I'm having problems. There was a flat in the next block to DS. I bid for but it kept telling me to delete it so I did, but all it did was take me off the list and not take the actual bid away. I also trying to bid on another but it won't let me even though one I am 56th out of 67 so not much chance and they had put the wrong advert in and said it was sheltered housing when it is not. They are both being advertised again but I cannot bid either for the one in the next block to DS or another I would like to bid on because I am not allowed to bid again until both of these flats are occupied again.
I am still on the list until have both been occupied because they keep the list in case someone changes their mind. I am only allowed to bid on 2 at a time. I can't see why they can't delete them and let me bid again for the ones I want. A short list of 67 is ridiculous I could scream. I could miss the perfect one that won't come vacant again before I die.0 -
Scary stuff silva, glad you are ok, hope you enjoy London Town.0

Hi all - thank you so much for your kind wishes! DH and I are perfectly OK ! NM dont think the insurance payout will be much. Our vehicle was an American SUV to tow our caravan and we've had it 12 years from virtually new ( demo car). TBH it's immaculate but that counts for very little with insurance companies.
Well the show was brilliant! They've kept closely to the film, the dancing, costumes and humour were spot on and Will Young was good. It got a standing ovation from the audience and I'd be happy to see it again. Made up slightly for yesterday!
Hester - you be careful - I second NM's suggestion.
Fuddle - how did you enjoy your yoga session? It's the one thing that I have kept up. No competition except with yourself, no music just peace and quiet. It's so calming and a lovely bit of me time. One of my potatoes has shown up - just need to go down the garden to check if there's any more & maybe earth them up. I've got to plant my runner beans out too.
NM - I did hope you'd be successful with the place near your son. What a strange way of trying to house people - and so frustrating too. Do hope you can find something more suitable soon.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Of course it's strange it was thought up by politicians, what do you expect!0

Emptynester. You will enjoy being at home. Just take things slowly. It's tempting to rush into doing new things but it's easy to get overwhelmed.. You sound as though life hasn't been very easy recently. Perhaps it's time for rest. Try wasting time, it can be fun.
LW, It really isn't fair, is it. I think that if anyone is disabled they should be able to have clothes as comfortable as possible, and there is no reason that I can see, that they shouldnt also be as pretty as possible.
fuds, good luck with the yoga. Gentle stretching exercises can only be good for you.
I tried it once myself but was not at all good at it. It didn't help that the instructor was a dead ringer for Norman Wisdom and took himself very seriously. Both things that made me want to giggle in inappropriate moments. I think he was glad when I packed it in.
Nm, Good Heavens, what a complicated system. I wonder who dreamed that one up. It's a wonder anyone ever gets housed at all. I don't suppose Macmillan can pull any strings? I am sure that someone with your problems needs good housing as a priority.
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Ald*s today. I know it is sad, but when you are car less and living in a village, a large supermarket is heady stuff. I was like a child in a sweet shop. However, the constraint of having to carry my shopping half a mile from the bus stop to home, put the brakes on my spending.
Softstuff, my sherpa has gone on strike.
I had a good sleep last night..... 6 hours unbroken. I felt all the better for it. Can't really expect that 2 nights running but you never know.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I'm not saying who monna I do not want to start a row on here and ruin the best thread on MSE.
I wish I could remember not to buy too much when I got to Store 75 in Manchester. They sell so many delicious goodies, like hot Danish Pastries, they don't sell in their other stores. Either way I usually end up putting weight on or not being able to carry it home but usually both.0 -
Lonewolf *hugs*, the frustration of bra shopping has brought me to tears on occasion. It makes the thing you're battling against seem much bigger when manufacturers simply don't cater for it.
Sorry to hear about the Sherpa Monna. Probably had something to do with the endless desserts you made him carry.
Nursemaggie, it all seems like bureaucracy has gone mad. Hope you get some sense soon.
VJsmum, you made me chuckle with the desk. I put a couple of chairs on the path ready for council pick up, when I came back I spotted a woman walking down the street with them! Good going with the diet, I'm 9 and a bit kg down now, so well over half way.
Fuddle, look at you yogaing! well done you. I'm another yoga failure. Did it twice a week for more than 6 months years back, but there's nothing that seems to help my distinct lack of balance. When I fell over during a pose on my last ever yoga lesson, the teacher just looked down on me and slowly shook her head :rotfl:
As for teas, I've stopped all caffeine after lunch, but am on a new selection of herbal teas, some are tumeric based (great for inflammation) and some are chilli based (good for pain relief, aids digestion). Don't know if you're interested, but thought I'd put it out there. I'm not a fan of fruity teas, but even my hubby who's a hardened black tea drinker enjoys these too.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Softstuff bureaucracy has always been mad but It's better than having a tin pot dictator or a corrupt government who is pocketing all the taxes. Come to think of it they usually go together.
I am at the moment fighting bureaucracy over the bins because none of them have been emptied for over a month. It gets worse every day. If they, the housing department and bins go on behaving like they are, each side blaming the regular tenants, and both sticking to their rules we will be buried under the rubbish by the end of the year.
It's got to the stage of one lot sticking notices on top of the other sides on the tops of the bins. Of course the refugees are probably used to this sort of thing and just go on piling the rubbish up to the sky. I can't get either side to see that the refugees CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. Who do they think they are leaving the notes to?
If you fiddle about with the council's website for about an hour or two they will eventually give you a box to send I message to the appropriate department. Trouble is you are only allowed 4000 characters which soon disappears if you set it out logically in proper paragraphs because every space counts to the 4000. I just managed to send one to the bins department about how to get rid of 3 computers and their peripheries.0 -
Evening all,
Hope everyone's ok , quick catch up ,reading back over the last 8 pages , ...my dad used to quote a little verse , no idea were it came from , but we found it funny as kids
It was in the month of Liverpool,
The City of July,
The snow was falling heavy,
although the ground was dry,
I jumped into a taxi to sail the Irish sea,
when a submarine came overhead and dropped a bomb on me .
Any ideas as to were that came from ??
Life throwing me a few lemons at the moment , feel like I'm treading water .
Ran 3.7 miles tonight for the runner who died on Sunday , so sad , amazing watching the running world come together , so many people running for him .
Hugs all x£223/ £250 GC0
