Ok, so despite me telling CHS yesterday that the toilet wasn't working and us having a conversation about traipsing along the jetty to use the marina facilities, he forgot. He finally gets up this morning desperate for the loo and is surprised and amazed to discover we have no working toilet!
He also discovered his little portable electric heater had stopped working, obviously both these faults were caused by me!
Fortunately I had managed to defrost the kitchen window and close it by the time he got up.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Only a little more snow here overnight, but more expected later. DGS is very pleased, he finally has a Snow Day
marybI've heard of Geoff Rosenberg (I read an article about him in a magazine), sorry I missed him! Hopefully he and I will both be there next time
monnagran Some people are astonishing. To decide it was a good day to fish off the needles, and then abuse the lifeboatmen who've come to save them, just beggars belief. Sorry to hear about the traybake. I hope Millie's tummyache doesn't turn into a proper upset tummy! Just seen that the funeral is postponed - it certainly sounds just as well
karcher Wine is fine xx
Hester So sorry about your toilet and the heater :eek:0 -
Well I (surprisingly) don't have even a trace of a hangover
We had a lovely evening, sat by the fire, sipping wine (ale for DH) watching various young families playing in the snow, and intrepid dog walkers encouraging their fur babies through the blizzards.
This morning it is VERY icy, DH had called all his lads yesterday to cancel work today, he will do paperwork and I will provide coffee and cake.
Dinner will be either Lamb Tagine or Lamb and barley stew...
I am off to refresh the bird water and food, keep safe and warm everyone.
Monna Bed sounds like the best spot today, hope Millie isn't suffering too much, but I can't blame her for snaffling the cake, who was it that said I can resist anything but temptation?
Hester remember count to 10, I find swinging at them at 8 takes them by surprise :rotfl:Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

NM you are a kinder woman than I. If any of my lot, children or DH, didn't turn the heating on for.me I would have rollicked them with my voice and not let them live it down. I have these conversations all the time with my lot. I put so much energy into looking after, organising, preparing, reminding that they forget that no one actually does that for me. So when I'm ill things fall to bits.
I have now learned my lesson, as it was my fault, to not oversee everything. I now have my limit and if anyone of them takes the Mick by doing or not doing something that causes me extra problems then by gosh they know about it. They have to learn don't they?0 -
Naughty Millie, poor you monna if she suffers big time! Is it right to be glad the funeral is postponed? I'm sure the family would rather everyone was safe.
All todays jobs are done already, there are probably a hundred more that need doing but I can't be bothered to look.0 -
Hester this is your first winter in a boat - by next year you'll have it all sussed and sorted.
We're still cut off, RV been for a look and says there are drifts up the top of the road that must be 15ft deep. We live in a steep cul de sac and the whole road is over 2ft deep. No buses running and the A7 passable with care but iffy up on the moor as it keeps snowing and blowing over. So no Sainsbugs delivery for me this weekend.
What I really really want is Monna to come and live here, she can do traybakes all day and I can sit and eat them. Heaven0 -
Geoff is always at the shows, Ivy. He goes to so many that the fabric show in Hayes Village Hall which is where I used to be a regular, is now only every couple of months. Next one is on April 6 and he was telling everyone yesterday he is getting in lots of Italian designer fabrics. I tell you, that man is evil!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I could eat a tray bake or two myself. I can make cakes but CHS doesn't eat cake so I'd eat it all myself!Chin up, Titus out.0

Hester that's why I don't bake.
fuddle he works in -5 so he does not notice. He only comes in the living room to take his boots off. Have his dinner when I'm here and to get a signal on his mobile. He actually comes to use the wifi as we cannot get a signal in this flat.
He stays in his room either on his computer or reading. I think he forgets I have this oil filled radiator.
My new PJs are lovely and warm.0 -
So far CHS has been covered in poo, twiddle and cold water, this is of course all my fault. If I an a widow before the day is out it will not be my fault!!!Chin up, Titus out.0
