I'm totally happy, just wish I'd had wellies so could have gone a walk up the road. But probly too tiring to try and wade through it - plus it's now blowing like mad and the snow is swirling around like a sandstorm. :)

Ooh, the snow and wind has been non-stop all day. As Mar says, swirling round like a sand storm. Have not even poked my head out!
I have had to tape up the 2 front windows that face north east, so draughty! And have hung fleecy dressing gown from curtain rail across bedroom window and pegged curtain across that.

Woodburner is very cosy but DH says only 2 day's supply of fuel left....hmmm, he took his eye off the ball this winter.

I made a giant pan of chicken n veg soup that can be reheated on wood burner (until wood runs out!), or on gas cooker so long as supplies keep coming through the pipes. I have filled a flask too but it looks like our leccy will be OK.

Had a lazy day really but it is going quickly somehow?! I have some thoughts about doing some art (I use the word 'art' loosely :)) so will potter up to the multipurpose room to check on materials.

I could get used to this not-going-to-work mode!! ;)
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Am I the only one imagining that Mardatha has locked the RV outside and is measuring snow depth by where it reaches on his legs? :p

I’m going to wash my DH’s mind out with soap. :D I read this to him, and his comment was. ‘Well at least it’s Mardatha not Hester. It’s a bit deep to lay CHS out horizontally:rotfl:

I apologise for my DH’s filthy mind. It does show he pays attention to my maunderings though:eek:

He got stuck last night. Didn’t make it very far. He can’t even get out of the cul de sac today. I can’t see him going anywhere until it thaws. I hope they’ve got some spare surgeons within walking distance of QEH.

maryb I posted earlier to thank you for your breadmaking tip - i think that's the method monnagran uses too - but something went wrong when I tried to post, and it's disappeared.

I'm guessing you decided not to try to get to the K & S Show? As you said, such a shame for the exhibitors (though probably quite a few of them didn't get there either )

I've been given a hospital appointment at short notice. Tomorrow at 8.15am! DH will take me and I'll ring him to collect me as I'm likely to be quite a while. Good job we've still got the 'beast' that we towed the 'van with as its a 4x4 and I think we'll need it!
Snow swirling round as the wind is strong - DH did chop a load of logs yesterday so we should be OK to the weekend at least.
    Cat's loving the snow though!

Looking seriously like those films of the wee cabin in the far northwoods up here... wind howling down the chimney, snow battering the windows, hardly anything has moved on the road all day and nothing at all in the village. I can almost sense the wolfpack circling the homestead...:eek::eek:

I reckon you have the appointment because someone cancelled due to the weather. Enjoy the snow and relax... I've been watching 4x4's glide up me hill. You will be fine. :D

Wow Islandmaid, be careful in that snow!!

It's been snowing again all day, I've finished knitting a hat (it's huge, you could use it as a tea urn cosy), made my friend a sort of poncho affair with some spare material and bled a radiator. The radiator took about 30 seconds, it has needed to be done since about January!

Went out to play in the snow with friends children for a while so I've had some fresh air. School is closed again tomorrow, I may go stir crazy!
