Just seen on BBC news that Bembridge Harbour is frozen! At this rate we'll all be able to walk over to see Monna.
No snow here yet but wind is fierce and bitter. Stay safe and warm all - specially all of you in the teeth of it at the moment.

We had a flurry of snow this morning, lasted 5 minutes, now bright sunshine, but bitter cold.
I am praying it stays away till tomorrow lunchtime as I have an appointment early morning, then home till Monday:)

We have no snow in the front, either the kids have trampled it down into the grass or nicked it to play with. We do have about 10 kids living here who will never have seen snow before. Their parents probably have not seen it either. It is relatively quiet above. Maybe they have finally gone to the park. Our park is extremely hilly. Perfect for sledging. The back yard has about 2 inches with just one set of footsteps going to next door. I guess no one has put any rubbish out.

Yesterday was terrible, my journey I mean. I took a taxi to the railway station. Once we got on the main road there was no snow. I saw it snowing a lot in Manchester but it did not settle. A lot of people about. It took over and hour and a half both ways on the bus to the hospital. Normally it is about half an hour.

It was only 14 degrees in our sitting room when I got back. I put the heater on and had my tea. The power went off. turned out to be power sockets only but that meant no internet and no heat. I tried to get into our newfangled fireproof power cupboard. I could not open the door so I went to bed. No cpap so very little sleep.

My friend in Milngavie is snowed in. She's quite pleased, as they have enough food for a fortnight, and she can sit and read :D

Meanwhile we've lent our dear elderly neighbours an extra heater as the condenser pipe on their boiler has frozen and BG aren't sure what time they'll be able to get here although of course they're doing their best :(

Oh no, NM, that all makes everything extra difficult. I shall think of you tomorrow and really hope that the forecast winds are less than feared.

We've had more snow and I reckon at least 5 inches now, starting to drift. Wind chill just as bad but predicted to get much worse tomorrow.

HM soup for lunch was delish and, of course, very economical. Just going to scout round in the fridge for the makings of dinner. I have plenty of veg in, just need to decide what to put it with!

Have already made a blueberry crumble. DH wants custard with it but we are conserving milk so he can't have custard tonight, i'm afraid.

Am about to do my new exercise dvd :j and hope I get inspired for cooking later.

    Keep warm everyone xx
