I've had snow on and off all day - although it's so cold it looks like tiny polystyrene beads. Just read this :
"MWIS forecast for the Cairngorms / Central Highlands is for a windchill of -30C on Thursday. For the next few days in the hills do not expose any skin!"0 -
Yes MMF007 Tuesday for a CT Scan and Thursday for my oncologist.
Not looking forward to the journey. Been a nice day sort of today. DS said I have seen it rain in bright sunshine before but not snow. It has been snowing on and off all day but just wispy bits. I think the wind is too strong for small flakes to settle.
I hope you are nice and warm in your new dressing gown.
I wish I had bought the next size up when I bought my new coat in the Autumn. I think I will need a jumper and a cardigan on tomorrow. The CT department is rather chilly in warmer weather than this.0 -
Wow mar that's more like Wonercollie's weather. I hope she does not have it even worse.0

Hope you all stay rugged up. I'd send you some warmth if I could. But then, if warmth could be evenly distributed around, we'd all be snug, but have no rhubarb.
Pumpkins and squash are great Fuddle, good luck with those, hope you do well. There's a few good recipes I have here:

Love this one, use any pumpkin in it and it turns out lovely, even cold.

Nom, no nom, nom nom.
We also love using pumpkin instead of potato for mash. It goes really nicely with grilled chicken and green beans.
We presently have a crop of bananas. 24kg of bananas. Well, we no longer have 24kg, that's what came off the plant, now the neighbours and relatives have about 12kg. We have a lot of recipes for both unripe and ripe bananas, but if anyone has anything particularly unusual I'd be keen to hear it.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning all.
No snow here yet although there were little flurries of snow flakes yesterday. Jolly chilly though, I've turned the heating on to constant though lowish. The oil-filled heater in my room has been racked up a bit. When I opened the door to let Millie out this morning she recoiled in horror at the temperature, flew out, flew back in again and gave me a very reproachful stare.
The viewing went well yesterday, I think. They were here less than 10 minutes so we will see. The EA thinks she might have another interested party in the offing. She is doing her best.
Later this morning we will decide if we are going ahead with lunch club tomorrow. We are not too worried about snow but getting elderly people to come out in the extreme cold may not be the best idea. In any case, I am having to to visit my bank. I have been banking on line without any problems for 4 or 5 years, but the last couple of days it has been telling me that the site cannot be reached. Wretched nuisance, all my DDs go out on Thursday and I can't shift the money into the correct account to cover them. This means a 3 hour round trip in the cold.
Having said all that, I hope you get to your appointment today nursemaggie.
I've also been worrying about burtha. She usually manages to get on here pretty regularly but the last time, 3mw was about to start getting the house ready for sale.I just hope that she has not run herself into the ground.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Throw kindness around like confetti.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
Monnagran, it might be worth deleting cookies and then trying to log in again. Alternatively download a different browser like Firefox. That often solves problems with being unable to access sites. It's unlikely to be a problem at the bank's end for all this time so more likely to be something in your tablet that has got stuck in a loop. Worth a try before you have such a long flog out in this weatherIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Morning all
Today I am being sent to CoventryWell actually, I am going of my own free will but that isn't as funny
I am off to interview someone for my PhD
No snow to speak of here in the Midlands, though we may get some later in the week.
I am making the most of being out and about in the car (I rarely drive out of our town as it is easier and cheaper for us to go by train) to go to the tip (such excitement) and to Dunelms to see if I can get curtains for the newly decorated lounge.
Swedish furniture is mostly assembled - lordy but it takes a while to do it, but now we've only got to put the bl00dy doors on. Then we can start to put stuff in it. OH has promised to cull all sorts from his books, vinyl and CD collections. We shall see.
Oof but I've had enough of this winter...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Plenty of snow heremonna. I thought there would be lots of excitement from upstairs as none of them will ever have seen snow. It is very very quiet. last night.
It's not the best house hunting weather but that may be to our advantage. We have half a dozen in mind. We both have one in particular but not the same ones. I thought DS would prefer the one I do because all his friends are near by. I don't think we will get the one he likes.
I got a rush of houses last night with no pictures.
Sometimes it is the ones who only stay 10 minutes who are the ones who buy. They are the ones who have already searched the immediate area and have nearly made there mind up before they come to view the house. Good luck with your viewers let's hope they are the ones.
DS says the forecast changed over night and the North West will get most of the snow.0
