Fuddle I keep mine in the fridge and we only go through a 3lb bag once a month.
Monna I agree with every word re this thread and this fence. In my times of zero energy (like now) I read along every day but don't always join in. But it does keep me cheerful and positive.
I am really really sorry that I put the elephant in my freezer and ettit. Really.

Mar is only sorry because she is sick of eating elephant (she's had elephant stew, curry, sandwiches, pie, stir fry and even tried a smoothie to use it up and still has loads I'll bet! Don't tempt her with a crocodile!

Fuddle, in addition to the ideas above, I find the main thing is take them out of the bag. I think they're often a bit damp in the SM. Ours don't last that long, but longer than two days. You should also store them away from onions, the gases from the onions make them go off faster.

Lyn For goodness sake keep crocodiles and anything even vaguely edible even if unlawful away from this thread . If only for the sake of my last remaining shreds of sanity .

Mar I forgive you ( again , I've lost count now ) I continue to support your efforts to restrain your inner Hannibal Lector and return to your bit of the fence . You can get the old Mar back . If not big guns time .
GQ, Nursie and Henri D'Vac the latter only because of his smiley face . I can't be the only one here who smiles at her Henry and says hello .......... can I?
Back to my neverending day .

fuddle The bought potato bags are no better than a home made one. Making it of dark material will be better than a light one. Cotton is best. I think it is the fact that they wash them and then keep them in plastic bags that does it. I gave up buying potatoes as I was throwing 90% away.

I occasionally buy one or two loose baking potatoes to use quickly. We have chips or roast potatoes occasionally so I buy frozen. We eat more rice.

burtha still thinking of you, everyone is giving you good advice. I don't have anything to add as I have not experienced it as I was the one to leave.

monna our weather has been like that for at least a week. I agree wholeheartedly, you don't know what to wear.

MY goodness POLLY that's absolutely shocking to read.....you STILL have shreds of sanity after reading along here for all this time??? you'll just have to try harder, how can you expect to be taken seriously if you admit to things like that????? How many boxes of green croaking amphibians with webbed feet do the rest of us admit to?????

In my case it's to infinity and quite some way beyond!
