Dozed off again when he turned over and the noise abated - a bit.

He has now bounded out of bed with a glad cry enumerating all the things we need to get done

Ah well, at least he has gone to make tea.

    Otherwise ......

Oh dear maryb i truly feel your pain.

My OH snores and snorts all night. I wear silicone ear plugs usually- but i forgot to take them on NYE to my sister in law's. Kicking did nothing, a loudly hissed !!!!!! did nothing, an even louder "SHUT UP " shut him up for about a minute. Sheer exhaustion sent me to sleep in the end for 3 hours.

I also could smother him when this happens. Thank God we have a spare room.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I too wear earplugs. We had a family holiday last year and my DDs laughed hysterically at the panic in my voice when I couldn’t find them and thought I hadn’t packed them. I was googling the French for earplugs. But then found them

I keep a spare pair of earplugs in my sponge bag. It's not just DHs snoring that wakes me.One DD lives near the coast so we get seagulls on the roof at dawn. The other DD lives in a block of flats so the neighbours wake me-they are not really noisy it's just that we live in a detached house so I'm not used to hearing other people.

All that wakens me in the morning is the odd sheep or coo making a racket :D

maryb you made me laugh, my DH was not only snoring, but appeared to be auditioning for River dance most of the night, with his legs twitching and flailing around... scenes from the film Misery played in my head ;)

Maybe Terry and June had it right with separate beds.....

    Happy New Year all x

Er, I hardly dare report but ....

When I woke up this morning I asked DH if he'd slept well because I had.
He said, 'I was up at 2 o'clock'.
    'Why?', I asked.
    Because you were snoring, Dear!'
    'Oh, sorry!'

I'd better go and start the chores.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Fencers, please can I confess to not only being married to a snorer, but also being one myself (usually when carrying too much weight as I currently am)...apparently his earplugs don't seem to block out my particular noise :D
