pandamonium - I meant to say when you posted the other day, I have a raccoon my DD crocheted for me. Its head has gone floppy but its front legs still stick up in the air, so it looks rather like Dracula swooping on his prey. We call it Vampire Raccoon
I have no idea what we're having for dinner today!
Happy New Year Fencers.
I do hope things improve for all who are struggling.
Love the vampire raccoon idea :rotfl:0 -

VJsMum I hope you don't mind me saying, I think you have exactly the right philosophy. xx
of course I don't mind. But today I used my last spoon driving DD and I back from sister in law's and, when we pulled up on the drive, all the memories of driving the kids back from mum and dad's at this time of year came flooding in.kids are now 18 and 21 so those days are long gone but odd that the memories came in today. I gave in for a bit but then just sat quietly watching TV and made sure I ate. I am now in bed.
Tomorrow is another day. Love to all, you have no idea how much you've helped over the last few weeks xxI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Aww, VJsmum
Sending you (((HUGS))) and wishing I was near enough to give you real ones xx

I had five over last night and really enjoyed the evening.
Youngest dd left early this morning as she did not want to wake me but phoned later to say she had got back safely.
Middle DD's bf changed some light bulbs for me and sorted out my Henry hoover so very chuffed. Seems strange to be on my own after ten days of company but quite nice to be able to please myself.
Happy New Year to all."This site is addictive!"

How can a man snore so loudly and not wake himself up?It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

No jury would convict me would they?
Of course they wouldn't maryb. And anyway we would all testify that it was the noise-abatement fairy that put the pillow over his face and sat on it.
VJsmum, isn't it amazing that a memory like that can take you unawares and suddenly you are in another place, another time and the emotions are overwhelming. I bet we've all had those moments.
I've been awake since 3ish due to my four-legged bedroom companion having some energetic and noisy dreams. As far as I can tell she was in mortal combat with a battalion of seagulls who at one point had buried her, causing her to kick off tons of sand whilst uttering fearsome war cries. She chased and fought them till the last gasp of the last seagull. Then she laughed (yes, really laughed) at their demise, and satisfaction that it was she who had demised them.
Can I borrow that pillow maryb?
Today will be full on as my friend reminded me that we were cooking for Lunch Club tomorrow and that she had visitors until this afternoon.
You could have knocked me down with the proverbial. I was under the impression that it wasn't our turn again until the end of the month.
To add to the misery, the church's boiler is on the blink so there is no hot water. Someone has kindly lent us a Baby Burco. Great, a two course hot meal for 50 with no hot water by tomorrow please.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I am a pencil in the hand of God. (Mother Teresa)
Ì rather think I am a wooden spoon in the hand of God.I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.0
