I went out earlier and gave our bay tree and olive tree a good soaking. They are in pots and get blown over in strong winds. I'm trying to make them a bit more bottom heavy.

Karcher, one day you will visit and I'll give you Mary Poppins. Anyway, I'd like to see the umbrella that could transport my bulk.
Looking on the bright side, the weather may put off some of our Lunch Club devotees tomorrow.
That means that I will be bringing some sausages home.

    Millie will be ecstatic.

  • I'm another one who has to admit to snoring, CHS doesn't snore and doesn't complain about me snoring either, he does sometimes talk in his sleep though.

My tenant has just phoned with another problem, so that will be this month's profit all gone, I just hope it's not too expensive.

The best earplugs to block out snoring, are Boots muffles, wax earplugs. They actually allowed me to sleep , whilst sharing a bed with my ex, obese warthog:rotfl:

That's really useful, thank you. OH and I are off to the canaries on Saturday where there is no spare room. I do get so cross with him as he knows if he lost weight he would stop snoring, but it doesn't seem to incentivise him :(.

He is a considerate man in all other ways but losing weight seems to be beyond him - even for my sake.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Another vote for the Boots Muffles Wax plugs Candygirl recommended. We use them for noisy neighbours and keep them on hand. I always travel with them for noisy hotels, noisy heaters etc. They're much cheaper than the silicone and I find them more comfortable once they warm (and thus soften) up. They're also meant to be safer--silicone is very difficult to remove if part of it gets stuck.

One trick--hold them in the palm of your hand for a few minutes before you need them to warm them up.

I even recommended them to a woman in boots once who was hemming and hawing over the selection. I wouldn't normally interfere and tell a stranger what to buy, but we've tried so many types I thought she should benefit from our experience.

I'm off to bed now, we had a long day of adventures, lovely picnic and are now cozy at home. Hugs to all who need them.

VJsMum--I'll be thinking of you between now and Saturday.
Safe travels to those out and about tonight.

I am having an early night. Feeling unaccountably tired:think:

Very wild and stormy night up here now, with rain battering against the windows. Pics of terrible flooding in Galway city, and they are saying Eleanor is worse than predicted.
  • The wind and rain has slackened off here so I'm hoping to get some sleep now!

DD1 has been to see the dog she's hoping to get, there will be a home visit then the dog should be theirs
