Pretty noisy all night here. It seemed worse at high tide (11pm) . Even Millie was a bit anxious. I tried to talk to someone on here at just after midnight but I was offline for a couple of hours. I think I dozed off about 2ish for a bit. Not looking forward to stepping outside.

I hope everyone is safe and still has tiles on their roof.

  • I managed a couple of hours sleep then it got really noisy and woke me up. I went to the bathroom and the boat rocked hard enough to tip me off.

Horrendous here too. There's lights on over the road too. Seems not many of us are getting sleep tonight... but we're not on a boat. Hang on to your hat HUH!

I've just heard on the news that we had gusts of 89mph on the island. Pity it couldn't have managed that tiny bit extra, 90mph seems so much more impressive. Well I must get myself into gear, as soon I must see how the buses are running.

VJsmum, thinking of you especially today. Hope all goes well and you get through this sad day as well as possible.

    Take care out there everybody.

I went out earlier and gave our bay tree and olive tree a good soaking. They are in pots and get blown over in strong winds. I'm trying to make them a bit more bottom heavy.

Success, both are still standing despite the strong winds.

Thank you - and thank you for remembering. I was not in the best place yesterday, mentally. Surprisingly it came out as just being in a foul mood - is that part of the anger stage? But today I am ok. It is time...

Just waiting for the kids to be ready and we will set off. It's a 3-4 hour trip down depending on traffic.

We are coming back tonight so OH is going to be shattered, I have said I won't drink anything so I can help out with driving if necessary. I am not sure alcohol will help today anyway.

I am looking forward to tomorrow ...

(Actually I am really looking forward to Friday, when we travel down to gatwick and especially Saturday when, hopefully, we will be A LOT warmer).
I wanna be in the room where it happens
