Don't have a car, so car clock is not a problem. Manage all the rest except the oven clock and it doesn't matter how many times DS says, "Just press this button and use the up and down button to set the time," it doesn't work when I do it.
Everything else is copable with. All clocks are now correct except the one that changes itself automatically. It's a bit sluggish and takes a few days to catch up with the radio waves or whatever magic keeps it going.
Another bright day today so my plans include a walk on the beach and then a bit of letter writing. I am struggling with the book I am editing at the moment, its like trudging through glue. My fault entirely but I will keep going as best I can. I think that the poor author deserves more encouragement than I am managing.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY.

Not done my car clock yet - might get round to it sometime. Couple of items sold on fleabay so need to get them packed and sent today - a bit more Cr*p out of the house. Then plan to do my windowboxes & if not too cold carry on with the pruningSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I keep forgetting to tell you - the other day we were in the Co-Op and saw that they now do their own brand of filtered (i.e. like Cravendale) milk, but of course it's cheaper than Cravendale. :j
This seems a very new thing so I don't know if they're selling it all over the country yet.0 -

I had a couple of horrific experiences as a child and another one a couple of years ago. The roots of my teeth are embedded in my jaw bone so it was a hammer and chisel job, I'm fairly stoically, produced babies with not pain relief etc but that was a bit much even for me.
It hurt twice as it cost £195, I'd been quoted £75 so had a row in the waiting room after the procedure.
Did you win though?0 -
Well sort of, I only had £75 on me and they could hardly stop me from leaving, they were going to send me a bill for the rest but didn't.Chin up, Titus out.0

It looks like they knew they were in the wrong Hester. Most of us would not have enough money with us. I certainly would not have budgeted for it.0

With regards to dentists, I have always been very good at getting a check up as per advice given...but that was back when I had an NHS dentist. My last visit was only 8 months ago and cost me dearly.
Right now I think my toothache is just part and parcel of a bigger picture, but even if not, I just don't have the means to pay so I will just live in hope that it subsides
Hester: good for you, I will remember that for future reference
Clocks: I don't have a car so I only needed to change the one on the rarely used oven. In fact my oven's only function is to tell the time..I'd have been better off just buying a cheap wall clock :rotfl:'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

I was looking through my book of inspiring words when I found this and realised that it may speak to some folk on here.
It is quite long so feel free to skip it.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses are not contracts
and presents are not promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up
and your eyes ahead,
with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today,
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
you really are strong,
you really have worth,
and you learn,
and you learn,
with every goodbye, you learn.

But also, even if you've been burned and destroyed by relationships that were your world, rejected by the love of your life (or so you thought) and found that precious balance again when dust clouds have settled and feathers been unruffled life can sometimes give you the most precious gift of all, a true friend to share it with, a good man to stand beside you through thick and thin, someone to laugh with, work with, someone to laugh at you and himself, someone who you learn to care deeply for in a way that shallow 'true love' excludes, someone to cherish and appreciate because he appreciates who and what you are and is happy to let you be yourself even if he doesn't entirely understand why! Blessings sometimes happen! xxx.0
