I'm exactly the same now but I didn't have that problem many years ago.
I think it is the food that has changed rather than my tolerances?
I think it might be in more things.. Generally anything that says "flavourings" or even "natural flavourings" will have it. It includes things like gravy granules, as well as more obvious things like it noodles... I had s steak pie the other day that had it.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
It is karcher If you lose lots of teeth you start having problems chewing and it takes an hour to eat every meal.
I will be glad finally to get rid of all my broken teeth a week tomorrow. I still have to start looking for a dentist to get some dentures. I was amazed I only had the broken teeth. No fillings at all after nearly nine years since I saw a dentist. I hope I can find a new dentist when we move though I have looked in different parts of Bolton.
I posted last night but there is nothing there now.0 -
How is your house hunting going Nursemaggie?
We've been looking for almost a year now and will actually view the first potentially suitable house on Wednesday. The rental market here is dire.
Btw, I'm a former York girl too.0 -
Welcome pandamonium. I know there was someone else but can't remember the name. If I go back to look I will lose my post.
Hopefully we will see two tomorrow. I have persuaded DS to move just a half mile into another area he said was too far away. I found two houses only a short walk from another house we missed.
Sorry MrsmortonHacket welcome to you too. I believe we may have met before on another thread.0 -
karcher
It is worth looking after your teeth as if something turns into an abscess it will be very painful. Having said that, I really need to contact my dentist as after DH died and then I had depression I did not get check ups for a couple of years."This site is addictive!"

nursemaggie Are your broken teeth not being removed by a dentist who could sort out dentures for you? Or is it happening at hospital?
karcher I second what other posters have said, it really is important to look after your teeth. You don't want to end up with an abscess on top of everything else you're dealing with. Thinking of you xx0 -
I think we must be very odd as we have dental check ups regularly every 6 months and wouldn't dream of not doing so. It's something we've always done and we get any treatment that needs doing sorted out as quickly as we can get an appointment for it. It's part of our prevention rather than cure philosophy in life. I have many fillings as my mum had the opinion that you should get rid of your teeth in life as quickly as possible and wouldn't let my brother or I clean our teeth, go to the dentist and fed us bars of chocolate at bedtime when we were children. By the time I was old enough to understand why you took care of teeth I'd had almost all my adult teeth filled and several extracted. I look after them now though, I'm not likely to grow any more at my age!0

I have always had regular check ups but I moved and I could not find a dentist. I still have not found one so my nurse at the Christy referred me to the hospital dentist. I have never been without one before. It is getting harder and harder to get a dentist.
I did find one that would take me, but he wanted £150 just for a checkup. :eek:0 -
karcher: know that feeling. It's just one more little burden on top of all the rest, and sometimes it's just the last straw.
I hate my teeth. Our dentist, when I was a child, came out of retirement during the war and went back into it afterwards. At the same time the school dentistry service began so that is where I went. They were pretty gung-ho about extracting teeth instead of filling them so several of my permanent teeth were removed before my mother realised that they could have been saved. I now have a few gaps.
Lovely bright day here, though jolly chilly.
My next job is sweeping the leaves from around the bins. Life is full of these exciting challenges.
Don't know where these chestnut leaves come from. There are no chestnut trees in the vicinity, no one else seems to have any and I don't get them in any other part of the garden.
Perhaps they are a message for me. "Eat more chestnuts." or "Take up playing conkers."
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
To know what is right and not to do it, is the worst cowardice. (Confucious)I believe that friends are quiet angels
